Has anyone heard for general engineering?
should i assume waitlist acceptances are for the most part over?
I believe someone who got off the wait list the day or so before May 1st stated they had until May 10th to respond. My guess is that everyone who received acceptances after May 1st were also given the May 10th deadline. So if they give any more acceptances, it would probably be from those who were removed from the wait list around May 1st. Good luck for those still holding out hopes. My son has pretty much assumed he is no longer getting into Cal Poly.
@sweets911 - I was thinking the exact same thing. My daughter is in the same situation as your son. Also, I saw that someone who got off the waitlist for her major (ME) had lower gpa and act scores than her, but was from out of state. I realize there are other considerations for admission or to get off the waitlist, but thinking that being in-state doesn’t help at this point. Good luck to everyone still thinking they might have a chance!
@calpolyalum - This whole situation about OOS and In state is so frustrating! We are in state. CA schools really let down In state students the past x years. Out of about 20 of my son’s friends only 2 got accepted and he was the only one on the wait list. As for now he is going to UC Irvine. I’m sure other states do the same too.
We need a cap on oos admissions like University of North Carolina has.

@sweets911 My son was admitted instate for CS on 5/31 but had already sent SIR to UCI. He took 2 days to think it over and then declined because he’s so excited to go to UCI. Good luck to your boy. UCI is a lovely school if cal poly doesn’t come through.
My son was accepted off the waitlist on Apr 30 for econ. The date was surprising, as we didn’t expect any news before May1. In state. Cal Poly GPA 4.0 ACT 35. He was given until May 10th, but he SIRes right away. Have already SIRed to UCSB previously, so there goes the deposit. But I am not complaining 
What are the odds that If I were in SLO during a business day between the hours of 12-5pm, that I could speak to a human being admissions officer in person?

I called yesterday and that was their “understanding” no matter the decision you’ll be notified is what they said

I guess “by May 15” means different things to different people To me it means we would have heard yesterday. So I’m sure we’ll hear by May 16 - end of day today?
Haven’t heard anything yet. Portal still says on waitlist. I would expect that if a prospective student were to get off the waitlist then they would hear by the end of the day, May 15.
My daughter’s portal still says, “You have been placed on the waitlist at Cal Poly for fall. You will be emailed a survey confirming if you would like to remain on the waitlist or no longer be considered for admission to Cal Poly. Once you receive email, respond promptly to the survey”. BUT she did fill out the survey. Does your portal say this too?
@FresnoSFSUmom Yep, says the same. I called weeks ago to verify DS was added to the waitlist, which he had been.

rejected. checked portal, no email
Also just got rejected after being on the waitlist. Applied as a comp sci major. It updated on my portal just now but no email has been sent. Oh well
