Ok, Thanks for the info regarding no email sent. Checked portal just now,
“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your application for admission to Cal Poly. We regret we are unable to offer you admission due to the extremely limited number of openings available”
@MamaLlama27 - My daughter received the same message on her portal.
I just checked my portal at 5:47 and I was offered admission, it says " Congratulations, you have been selected for admission to Cal Poly pending your meeting the following Terms and Conditions. Click on the link for further information." so for people that haven’t checked yet don’t lose hope!
Rejected today CPSLO Business Administration but already SIR’ed to early admit SDSU Weber Honors Business Finance so all ended on a happy note here! CSU gpa 3.92, 32 ACT, varsity sport, team captain.
DD rejected today…in state, CSU GPA 4.1 SAT 1220, major: nutrition
omg i cant believe i got off the waitlist!!! bio major with a 4.4 gpa and 29 act haha
tbh tho i already sir’d to ucsc and i kinda wanna go there instead now

So did Cal Poly give everyone a determination one way or another? Or are some still waiting?
@CaliKenMom It looks like they said they would give everyone an answer by May 15th and sent out automated mass rejection emails to everyone still on the list. For the available slots that open, they are sending an email and updating portal to disregard rejection. Friend’s son was accepted for software engineering last night and has until 5/25 to decide, certainly a happy surprise for them after receiving rejection email.
Thanks @CopperlineX2 . I just curious, as I have been following this thread. My D was fortunate enough to get off the waitlist in April, but I still kept my fingers crossed for all those still on there. It didn’t look like they accepted very many more this week, so I was just wondering if that was it.
@CopperlineX2 Thank you for sharing this, congrats to your son, but such bad communications from Cal Poly. A rejection, then an acceptance?
@BayAreaMom15 My son was accepted off waitlist for CS on 4/31 but he declined rather quickly (5/2). My friend’s son was accepted yesterday. Waitlists are never an easy thing. Kids are changing their SIR’s as they come off waitlists so spots will keep opening here and there.
Thanks for the clarification @CopperlineX2 , and totally understand that changes to SIRs are happening. My point was that Cal Poly sent out a pretty clear rejection email to my son which I took to mean that he was not being considered anymore but thanks to your post, it sounds like there is actually still a chance that someone with a rejection could be accepted!
