Cal Poly decision released

does anybody know if they come out once a week or after several days?

@cn2899: SLO doesn’t release Denials until a few weeks later, around early March.

My son just got accepted!!! Both older siblings attended CP as well, so we are very excited he made it in also.
Ag Systems Management
GPA 3.85
SAT 1280
Lots of bonus points for EC and work experience

Any idea the time frame they switch off acceptances and then do denials?

@windchime1: Denials/Waitlist decisions usually start showing up in a few weeks. Probably around the beginning of March. More acceptances continue to trickle out over the next few weeks but the majority have already been posted.

do decisions tend to be released based on how early you applied?

@cn2899: No application date does not matter. They do not start reviewing applications until after the November 30th deadline.

My son got his acceptance today… Sociology

@Gumbymom How were you informed that most acceptances have been posted?

Accepted for poli sci

@hopeyhippie: Based on the previous years decision history, they accept most applicants over a few days. Then more acceptances trickle out followed by waitlist and denials. Hopefully they break from their usual pattern and many more decisions are.coming.

This is all conjecture!!!

@Gumbymom So hard to know if it will be trickling in or it’s a denial. Do they waitlist? Didn’t know that. My son is OOS and computer science. Reach for him.

@windchime1
Yes they waitlist. They accepted quite a few applicants last year, but previous years very little. All depends upon how many students enroll

I’m not sure about OOS but I know several in state CS applicants who haven’t heard yet.

@lkg4answers that’s the thing… not hearing may not be good news

@windchime1 but it may not be bad news either. There is a ripple effect in college admissions. Someone posted on the SDSU page that he got into SLO so won’t be attending SDSU. I know of several students who got into SLO but are waiting to hear from the UCs (in March) before they make a final decision.

^^^^^ This is why I think SLO and many of the CSU’s will send out decisions in waves to better gauge their yield and make sure they maximize their in-coming Freshman/Transfer class. I personally feel that if most of the UC’s can post decisions all in one day with the extra burden of reading essays/LOR’s, that the CSU’s which mainly rely on stats and the computer for decisions could also accept all applicants in one day.

Psychology: Accepted

What were your test scores and GPA? I applied for psych as well but my portal says no determination has been made yet
