Cal Poly Fall 2013 Admission Decisions

I was wondering if anybody had received the email regarding whether they want to remain on the waitlist or not. If so, I’m going to need to call SLO ASAP tomorrow since I haven’t yet received mine.

I was accepted last week!
major: architecture
GPA: 3.6/4.0
ACT: 31
SAT (CR+M): 1390

@gogogadgetflow

I have no received mine either.

@santookie what are your sons stats if you dont mind me asking? I applied for aerospace engineering also and am very nervous.

@gogogadgetflow

It has been 4 days and I haven’t recieved an email. I am not too worried. They will come with time. Nothing related to college admissions goes quickly. I’m just kind of wondering why it takes a few days to send a simple email. I bet it’s automated anyway. Lol.

anyone find out today?

I found out I was waitlisted right before I went into an exam (around 5pm). Total bummer. This is my first and only choice for transfer.
3.7 GPA, electrical engineering. I’ll have completed 100% of the IGETC and Assist.org classes by the end of this semester. Statistics as well, for whatever it’s worth. Considering I’ve gone through three moves and two immediate family tragedies in the past 18 months of my studies, I believe I have a pretty good case for extenuating circumstances. I plan to speak with admissions tomorrow and write an appeal if possible.

I just hope I don’t have to wait until July for a decision. The past several months have been hard enough, and finding a place to live on such short notice will be rough.

If I don’t get in, I suppose I’ll tutor circuits to stay sharp and try and find some internships until I reapply in October. Good luck to the rest of you!

Ahh, you (codywill) should def. call and see what you can do. You have an excellent GPA, espec. for transfer. These hs kids have high gpas, no bills, no rent pymts, mom cooking and they waste the first year of 20K education on partying. Sorry parents, this is a fact, hard to face, but if you only knew. Powering through CC is dedication and no running home for bandaids.
Still no determination on the portal, not getting my hopes up.

@NorthCAMom
In-state
ACT: 30
SAT (CR+M): 1350
GPA: 4.17
unweighted was 3.93, I believe.
APs and honors + a few community college courses

My D was accepted on the 21st:
Animal Science
WGPA 4.12
SAT 2010
Central Valley (Bako)
Found out on portal - heard kids at school talking about acceptance and checked.

@loeza83 - My S is Aerospace (Astronautical) Engineering too, and he has not heard a word yet on SLO. We will update stats if he gets in. Where else did you apply to? Please let us know your results when you find out. (Santookie was the first Aerospace posting we have seen since the early decision posters.)

@santookie - Tremendous congrats on your child’s achievement! This is a hard program to get accepted into, you should be proud. We had not looked at any of the colleges you listed. Do you mind sharing where else they applied?

@RocketMom95 - I applied to the following schools:

Cal poly slo
San jose state univ.
CSU Long Beach
UC Irvine
UC Davis
UCLA
UCSD

I’ve only gotten accepted into san jose state and long beach so far, so im hoping that the other schools will get back to me sooner than later because I’m really anxious. Cal poly is my top choice though, so I am especially anxious about this decision. Where did your S apply?

Any Construction Management majors out there hear from Cal Poly?

Transfer student with 3.5 GPA from DVC, banking on getting in.
If anyone’s gotten in for CM let me know your stats!

Good Luck to all

Looks like decisions have calmed down this week? :frowning: and @eandersan3 I’m from DVC as well, business admin tho, same exact GPA… Waitin on a response too… Feelin Bleak about it now

@loeza83

Thank you. I am sitting here with S now, he says hello. You have 2 schools in common. :slight_smile:

MIT
Caltech

SDSU
USC

Wow, that’s a pretty wide range of schools. I’m a Grinnell alum and Cal Poly is about as different from Grinnell as you can get. Do you mind sharing his thought process? Just curious.

A couple of my friends who applied to Cal poly in the same major ( electrical engineering )have already found out. on my portal it says no determination has been made. Does this probably mean I didn’t get in? do you think they just wait to send out the rejections at the end. GPA 3.92

@loeza83

Just realized that I put UCSD and he did not apply there, I meant to say Chapman. (They do not have Engineering there so he applied for Physics and was accepted.)

He has already received offers from 3 of the schools, but he would like to have all the answers back before quickly making his decision.

Received my admissions status on 2/20 :slight_smile:
Accepted for Bio major,
1770 on SAT
4.36 WGPA/4.0 UWGPA

Upper-middle class family,
Filipino female.

:)

Posting this because I feel like so many people on here have such high SAT/ACT scores and people get so discouraged by that. Although I know my GPA probably helped a lot, don’t give up hope! Hard work pays off!

My son applied to SLO and has not heard yet. He got 1890SAT and has 3.9 GPA…in his portal it still states no determinations…he is applying as mech engineering major. He was accepted to csulb…he has a friend who has heard he was accepted as mech engineering major and he did not get accepted to csulb. If he hasn’t heard yet, does that mean he most likely will not be accepted?
