Cal Poly Fall 2013 Admission Decisions

BengalBrat & all, check your spam folder, the e-mails often end up in the spam file.

Not everyone gets an email right away. I got in for ED and didnt get any sort of email till 2 weeks later.

I got accepted to Mechanical Engineering!
In Colorado, applied in October.
CSU GPA: 4.11 (no 9th), 3.89 (all 4 years)
ACT:30
SAT:1340/1990
First choice school, I am now super excited

Everyone who hasn’t heard:
Check your portals, I didn’t receive any notifications

I didn’t get an email either, but I checked the portal and was offered admittance to Aerospace Engineering!

UW GPA: 3.97
ACT: 29
SAT: 1990

Not sure yet if I will go. From out of state and will need to see how much aid/scholarships I can get.

hi every one. i submitted my application (Mechanical Engineering) on october 23rd and still have not received any admission decision.
csu gpa:4.17 and SAT: 1030/1600… Eligibility Index: 4366.

BauerBoy: your Eli. Ind. is : 4628. and you are for sure in the top 37percent(that’s cal poly’s acceptance rate)

does any one think i have a chance for mechanical engineering.
so far i’ve gotten into UC riverside(ME), SJSU(Aero Eng.), CSU Long Beach(Aero. Engi)

it’s such a long wait man…

Son accepted yesterday for Materials Engineering. We are OOS.
Stats wGPA: 3.95
ACT: 32
SATI: 1440/2120
SATII: 800 MathII 790 Physics
As stands now Cal Poly is one of his top 2 choices. Planned visit in April should be meaningful. Congrats to all accepted!

The CSU Eligibility Index is irrelevant. It is a minimum threshold below which a person’s file may NOT be forwarded for admissions review. You’re better off just ignoring it. Most of the non-admitted applicants were way, way above the minimum required for consideration. It is a preliminary rejection threshold that has nothing to do with a positive admissions decision.

Congratulations to everyone who has received good news. This is an awesome school from what I have seen.

For you engineering students, I learned recently that the lead Mars Rover “driver” at NASA’s JPL graduated from Cal Poly in mechanical engineering.

Is it true that psychology is so impacted that even 4.0s are being turned away? This makes me very nervous. At least my daughter got accepted to UCI yesterday, although she likes Cal Poly better.

Overly anxious for son.
Biological sciences. GPA 3.82 but 4.11 without Freshman year.
SAT 1350 (700 reading ; 650 math) and
ACT 31 composite (35 math; 34 reading)
Chances anyone???

Accepted today for Biomedical engineering
GPA: 3.5
ACT:32
So all you low GPA kids out their, there is hope!

When did 3.5 become a low GPA?
You worked hard for that - wear it proud!
And - congrats!

SAT is irrelevant given the 35 Math score. My opinion? 80% chance for Bio.

I’m assuming everyone Mentioning act scores and SAT scores are high school students? I’m a transfer with a 3.5 GPA and all requirements done but still stressing, does anyone know if they release high school acceptances first?

D still waiting on portal news. Nutrition major.

Still waiting. In state

PSAT 213 (national merit commended)

Biological sciences major.

EC’s are above average but not stellar (loads of volunteering, paid work, internships, but no cure for cancer or sports)

For UC’s, essays are above average to excellent.
Also, if you could chance for all UC’s too, that’d be great!

@Smother::::::::::::::::::Is it true that psychology is so impacted that even 4.0s are being turned away? This makes me very nervous. At least my daughter got accepted to UCI yesterday, although she likes Cal Poly better.

i thought UC’s release decisions beginning March???

I have a question people? why are people getting admitted into Cal Poly now and i’m not? i applied in Jan 23rd…

Waiting on a biomedical engineering decision…I’m in the bay area too.

^^^^ are you a transfer or freshman applicant? I’m from the bay too business admin major stressing about this acceptance^^^^
