@Smother::::::::::::::::::Is it true that psychology is so impacted that even 4.0s are being turned away? This makes me very nervous. At least my daughter got accepted to UCI yesterday, although she likes Cal Poly better.

when would UCI and Cal poly release their decisions for me?

I have a question people? why are people getting admitted into Cal Poly and UCI now and i’m not? i applied in Nov12 for UC’s and Oct23rd for CSU’s(i’m sorry i made a mistake in the previous thread)…(i’m a freshman applicant) please some one tell me why am i not getting any decision already? gpa: 4.17 sat math2: 620 sat: 1030 out of 1600 and 1580 out of 2400. but i was an ESL student and have an awesome Personal Statement. I have lots of extracurricular. i also have leadership and have been in the US for three years only. I applied for Aero. Eng UCI and Mech. Eng Cal Poly…
some one please i can’t do my hw and have dreamed of seeing my acceptance letter in CalPoly’s Portal. damn it this wait is unbearable… please one one help

@farzzin2012: Acceptances will probably come out over at least few weeks, as they have in the past, so I would not worry or anything if you have not gotten anything yet. Cal Poly does not send out acceptances to everyone at the same time like some colleges/universities might. If you are going to be waitlisted or rejected, though, they tend to release those notifications later (portals were updated with rejection messages in mid-March last year. So, you might have to wait until then to find out if you have not been accepted. Not fun…). And unfortunately, many people with high GPAs and test scores are rejected each year, so even with high scores and GPA, someone might not get in. Good luck!

Don’t panic. We haven’t heard from Cal Poly either. Irvine didn’t send us an email or anything, I just checked online and it was there. I don’t know why. My daughter has good stats too so we are getting antsy too. I haven’t seen any other psych majors get in yet so maybe it is by major.

@farzzin2012 - It is unfortunately how this process works. Like others have said there is still plenty of time for Cal Poly to release decisions, their website says the latest date is April 1. Your SAT scores are below average for both schools so you may need to wait longer than others.

It’s really all a crapshoot. I’ve gotten into Cal Poly already but not UCI, whereas others the opposite. Just try and keep your mind on other things and stay focused with school or you won’t manage.

thanks guys… i know my SAT Scores are below average for those schools but here is the thing: i could not speak a word of English when i came to the U.S. in march 2010. and that is the main reason my scores are not high enough. i would at least be able to pull a 1900 if i was form here. so far i’ve gotten into SJSU and CSULB for Aerospace Engineering and UCR and CSUN for mechanical engineering. but i like how people are optimistic and encouraging to me… :)

I was reading this thread and I thought you guys might want to hear this.
