Cal Poly Financial Aid Awards Date?

<p>Hi, all!
I was admitted to Cal Poly as a journalism major a few days ago and needless to say, I’m very excited for the fall semester to begin (as Cal Poly quickly rose to the top of my list early on in the application process). My question is… does anyone here have any idea of the timeframe as to when financial aid awards are determined and announced? Also, what method (i.e. e-mail, Portal, etc.) will be used to provide us with the proposed sum?</p>

<p>It shows no financial aid for me, and I’m hoping that’s because nothing has been awarded yet.</p>

<p>I think that is probably the case. </p>

<p>We called the office this week and that is what they indicated to us, ie. that it would be more towards April.</p>

<p>Does anyone know any details on how the merit based financial aid works, how much is available, what the awards run, etc etc?</p>

<p>We will be paying out of State tuition for my who recently accepted his admission offer from Cal Poly. He was offered huge merit scholarships at several private schools he was also accepted at. Since this is a big State school with so many students, our expectations are lower, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for SOME help at least.</p>
