I’m going to apply to Cal Poly this year, and I’m still deciding between a major in Kinesiology or a major in nutrition. I’ve heard good things about the Kinesiology department, but does anyone know anything about Cal Poly’s nutrition program?

I’m also a future applicant hoping to get in as a nutrition major.=/.lol

But you have way better stats then me, I only have 3.46 gpa and 27 act.=/.

Oh haha well I think your ACT is above average for people applying to nutrition so that should help=)

I actually heard that for nutrition,you need a 3.5+(=/). I only have a 3.4

Without above a 4.0 and 1800 SAT your not gonna get into the Nutrition Major at Cal Poly… Your chances will be better with Food Sciences Korean Boi!.. Nutrition is a major that isn’t impossible to change into… KoreanBoi please take my advice and really think about which major will give you the best chance of getting accepted.

Actually, ultimately, I want to be pre-med. I wanted to apply as biology, but it’s competitive. Unless biology is somehow less competitive than nutrition?

is the biology major at sLO a big chunk of the college of science and math?

Wait Cal Poly doesn’t accept people without a 4.0+ for the nutrition major? =/

The Nutrition program at Cal Poly is particularly difficult to get accepted into. And yes, there were applicants that I know of with GPA’s above a 4.00 that were not admitted for even the early decision as well as the general decision.

Do you know if its more competitive for kinesiology?

I heard kinesiology was pretty popular. One of the reasons why the admission stats to the college of science math is pretty competitive??
