I am under a strict timeline here, since Cal Poly’s housing deadline is today, and I cannot get priority for housing until I accept their admittance.
I am planning on majoring in computer engineering, and I am not sure which school has a better program. I know that UCSC has projects that the undergrad students work on, where they try to solve a real world problem by working from scratch to build something, and hat sounds really cool to me. I know very little about Cal Poly. Any insight is appreciated

I'd go to Cal Poly. UCSC is a UC, but it's a low tier UC. Cal Poly is more in line with UCI, UCSB, and UCDavis. Check out the Cal Poly website to learn more about their "learn by doing" philosophy. I'd also reccomend checking out the campus as it is really nice. And Cal Poly is fantastic for anything engineering related--much better than UCSC in that department.

UCSC is good if you want to major in liberal arts or journalism but Cal Poly has a better computer engineering program. I'm taking one class in computer engineering and it is a bit challenging because there is a lot of work.

calpoly's engineering is on par with ucla/ucsd
