Similar to SLO’s Transfer thread, I feel that posting one for Pomona would also be a great asset to those
wishing to gain some insight for how they stack up against other potential transfers.
As always, any additional information in the form of data sheets, statistics, and previous application experiences are definitely useful to add to a post.
Good luck future Broncos!

Really worried about my GPA just because I had a stellar GPA but didn’t realize my PCC GPA would be counted.
So I feel my GPA is just average, I have a chance but feels like 50/50. Let me know your thoughts!

You’ll most likely get in with your stats with your very competitive GPA. Technically the only requirements for engineering transfers are the Golden Four and math up to Calc III (multivariable), but it’s good to do as much as you can. I’m surprised CPP is as lenient with their requirements considering how popular they are for engineering. :-??
@Tssteiner
Thats good to hear! I actually see that I have not completed the CSU general ed requirements, I’m just three classes shy, or 9 units away from the minimum requirements in arts&humanities and social sciences. One in arts and two in ss. My transfer councilor said I was fine to transfer without even mentioning them! But I do have the “golden four” completed, and all honors in calc. All my friends have transferred to CPP!
I will try to get them completed though!
Major: Computer Science
Current College/University: Pasadena City College
IGETC: No, missing one course, political science.

super nervous just because how impacted the major is, I’m hoping all my credits transfer so that ill have above 60 units. I have two W’s on my transcript but I’ve heard they won’t hurt me. Really, really hoping I get in.
Major: Kinesiology (Exercise Science)
Current College: Orange Coast College (but I have attended Santa Ana College and completed one class at Golden West College and an online class at Fullerton College as well as Santiago Canyon College)
IGETC: Done
Major Prep: Will be completely finished by Spring 2017
GPA: 3.82
EC’s: I played collegiate softball for two years. In my third year, I am now a Human Anatomy Teaching Assistant and I intern at a physical therapy clinic weekly.
In-State: Southern California
I actually already applied last year to CPP, and I got accepted without completing Anatomy and Physiology at the time of submitting my application which was incredibly surprising to me. I feel like I just got in because I’m within the area to be honest. Hopefully that puts some local people at ease! Cal Poly SLO is my number one, so I’m hoping I get into there but CPP is a close second or third option for me! Good luck everyone (:
Major : Computer Engineering
Current College : Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College ( For their Physic classes )
IGETC : 1 unit of Area C
Major Prep : 1 course 250C at SCC, will be finished by Spring 2017
GPA : 3.83 --> Might be about 3.7 at transfering time.
ECs : none
International Student.
CPP is the only school that I apply. Is lacking of 1 unit at Area C affect my transferability much? Computer Engineering is pretty impacted, about 30% in acceptance rate. I’m so done.
Major: Business Administration (Technology and Operations Management Concentration)
Current College: Grossmont/Cuyamaca
IGETC: Complete (6 AP tests from high school contributed)
Major Prep: Completed after this semester (fall 2016)
GPA: 3.49 (hopefully about 3.6 by transfer time, 4.0 in all major coursework)
EC’s: Aren’t looked at for transfer students, but I’ve had a number of jobs, been in clubs, normal stuff)
In-State: SoCal, San Diego
Applied straight out of high school in 2014 with around a 3.8 and got waitlisted then denied (was an engineering applicant back then); CPP is a high choice for me, though generally known for their engineering programs they actually have an extremely expansive and well-managed business college with a wide variety of concentrations. For those of you with 3.6-4.0 you have very little to worry about based on their student profile: https://www.cpp.edu/~aboutcpp/calpolypomona-overview/facts-and-figures.shtml

Major: Chemistry
Current Colleges: Southwestern and Grossmont (San Diego area)
Golden Four: Completed

Applied to 2 CSUs last year and didn’t get in. One didn’t get my second transcript in time. Currently my Pomona admission status says “ready for decision.” Also worrying me that it says it this early. It’s been a long road but I am definitely staying positive. Good luck everyone
