I haven’t seen a thread for this year. It looks like there’s a general thread that was created last year but I wanted to create a separate one for all the fall 2019 or even spring transfers. Anyhow, here are my stats please follow this guide and post yours too. Good luck everyone!
Major: Geography
GPA: 3.12
AA-T/AS-T: AA-T
Pre-reqs: All completed
Golden 4: All completed
Area: San Diego (Graduated summer 2018)
Other schools applied to: SDSU, CSUSB, CSUN
My number one is SDSU since I live in SD. I’m optimistic about my chances considering that my major isn’t popular. My number two is Poly (I like that I can earn a BS in geography at poly w/o all the math) followed by my wife’s alma mater CSUSB. She’s also a U of Redlands grad with an MBA.
Major: Art History
GPA: 2.99
AA-T
Pre-Req’s: All completed
G4: Math (Spring’19)
Area: Los Angeles
Other schools: CSULA, Sonoma, CSUCI, UC Riverside
I didn’t do very well at the beginning of my college education. I technically am a non-traditional student (31yrs old), after a long break, I returned to school at GCC in Glendale, CA. My GPA from my current school is at 3.68 but my previous college work lowers my cumulative GPA down to 2.99.
I’m hoping that CSULA will take me in since I am from the local area. Sonoma was my safe school (admitted) but I’m holding out either CPP or CSULA.
@seiseiseis I understand. I am only a few years older than you so I can relate. Hopefully CPP accepts you and LA. I’m surprised Sonoma already admitted you? When were you notified?
@IsntThatSpatial I was also surprised at how quickly I was admitted and I was notified by mail within a week of applying. I just checked my student portal CSU Channel Islands and was also admitted(yay!), but didn’t receive an email or letter in the mail from them. I’m just going to keep checking my email & student portals for CPP and CSULA ::fingers crossed::
Good luck! Good thing you have schools that have accepted you already. Congrats on that.
(Unless they’re IVY league schools) I’ve been told that it doesn’t matter what school you end up at really as long as you make the most of your undergraduate academic journey to get into grad school.
Major: Psychology
GPA: 2.8
AA-T: Will complete by Spring
Pre-Req’s: By spring
Golden 4: Complete by Winter (B,B,C)
Area: Local (Citrus College)
Other Schools: CSULB, CSULA, CSUDH, CSUSB, CSUF (Redirection choice: San Fran)
Pretty low gpa… Didn’t take school seriously at the start. Already have early acceptance to CSUDH and CSUSB has asked for my final transcripts but hasn’t sent out acceptance so idk whats going on there. Number 1 choice is CPP so I’m hoping that since I am local and have declared a non-impacted major that I have a decent chance of getting in regardless of my GPA. Good luck to everyone!
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.4
AA-T/AS-T: none
Pre-reqs: in progress
Golden 4: A, A, A, B
Area: Orange county
Other schools applied to: CSUF, CSULB, UCI
UCI is my first choice. Honestly, I’m not even sure if I’ll get admitted to pomona. I haven’t taken any physics or biology, but I’m still applying anyways.
Major: Industrial Engineering
GPA: 3.25
AA-T/AS-T: None
Pre-reqs: All completed
Golden 4: All completed
Area: Los Angeles
Other schools applied to: SFSU (Accepted) , CSULA, CSUN
@eallen24 I applied to CSUSB too. I called admissions about a week ago and they said ALL admissions decisions will be made between now and the beginning of March and to keep a lookout in your email and your MyCoyote.
Major: Architecture
GPA: 3.61
AA-T/AS-T: None
Golden Four: Completed
Pre-reqs: Completed
School: Bakersfield College
Was wondering if anyone knows my chances of getting in based off my stats. Already got rejected by Cal Poly SLO, but I can’t say I’m surprised by that. Anyway, feedback would be appreciated.
Major: Dietetics
Transfer GPA: 3.85
AA-T/AS-T: none, but IGETC will be complete
Pre-reqs: all are not completed, but all aren’t offered at my school either
Golden 4: Critical Thinking: A; Math: A; English: AP Credit; Com: currently enrolled
Area: Riverside (not local)
Other schools applied to: SDSU, CSUSB
Super scared because this is like the only school besides CSUSB I can afford to go to (I have to commute) with my major, and I really do not want to go to SB. With the dietetics concentration here, it’s like the perfect school for me, so I’m really banking on getting in.
I’m also a bit worried though because on BroncoDirect, it’s telling me that my English requirement for the Golden Four isn’t completed, even though I put on my app that I satisfied it with AP credit. Idk, I submitted my AP scores just in case, and I’m really hoping they don’t overlook me because of a mistake in the system (as I did flunk it my first semester [yes, I took it despite the fact that I have AP credit for it because my original major was philosophy]) or something.
I’m also worried that they might reject me based on myself getting put on academic dismissal my first year, but obviously I got academic renewal for it, so I hope they give me the benefit of the doubt based on my current GPA, as I did fix everything in under a year. Fingers are crossed, but who knows though. If I don’t get accepted now, I’ll just try again next year and/or take all the physics and math next year that I’ve been avoiding and change my major again to food science or pharmacy. /shrug. Can’t worry about things out of my control now.
@totesnotMN My bronco direct says the same thing! On my cc transcript my AP credit was posted as an actual English course with a grade of “P” for passing, so I listed that for my english requirement for the Golden 4 and it says not completed.
@IsntThatSpatial It’s just personal preference Just not a fan of the area. Plus CPP’s program for my major is so much better for where I want to take my career. I hold nothing against CSUSB; it’s just not for me.
@quelaquela Wow! Thank you so much! I’m in the same exact boat! I was so worried, and this made me feel so much better. Thank you so much for telling me!
@totesnotMN maybe (hopefully) it’s just bc they haven’t received our AP scores? at least they haven’t for me, because they haven’t requested them from me yet!
@totesnotMN I totally understand what you’re saying. I moved from San Bernardino to San Diego so I get it. ?
What are your career goals? Personally, I think as long as we all excel in undergrad that’s what’s most important in order to get accepted into graduate school. You can only get B’s there. Anything below is a failure.
