Cal Poly Pomona GPA Requirements?

Hi I’m getting ready to apply for cal poly pomona. I have currently a 2.96 preliminary gpa. Does my gpa meet Cal Poly’s minimum requirements for English majors?

GPA: 2.96
SAT: 1150

If your CSU GPA is 2.96, then your eligibility index is 3518 which is low for CPP. Usually around a 3800 is a solid EI. Since English is not impacted it is worth an application but I would look at some less competitive schools like Sonoma, Sac State, San Francisco, Channel Islands, East Bay, Monterey Bay, San Jose to name a few.

if you are local and applying to a non-competitive major, maybe. Note, they are the only CSU that still looks at your backup major. Choose carefully. Here’s the impacted majors list:

Did you get into CalPoly after all? Please update :slight_smile:

I am attempting to transfer o CalPoly Pomona fall 2018. I currently have a 2.76 and I have planned to complete STATS and Anthro 5 (Linguistics) this Spring 2018 as a Anthropology major. What are my chances and where should I focus on improving? I am a veteran also and will be asking for vet admission priority/consideration on my app.

@Gumbymom How do I calculate my Eligibility score?

@SoCalGal2017: (CSU GPA x 800) + (SAT Math + EBRW) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10)

@SoCalGal2017: If you are a transfer, EI is not calculated for transfers. EI is only for Freshman.

Oh, okay. Thank you.
