I am currently a 2nd year undergraduate student majoring in Business: Computer Information Systems.

I am indecisive on transferring to Cal State Fullerton sticking with the same major next year if my plans go accordingly. I also live in Fullerton right now commuting to Pomona at the time.

My concern is that will transferring to Cal State Fullerton be a smart move on my side with my major? Cal State Fullerton also seem to have a stronger student body than Cal Poly Pomona. I commute 20 minutes away to Pomona while Cal State Fullerton is about 5 minutes away. I have made many friends here at Cal Poly, but can I get some help listing the pros/cons or if I should make the decision on transferring? Any help would be appreciated!

Cal Poly Pomona I think has the stronger name for computers/IT.
Fullerton has a good business program, so I can see your dilemma.

Both are probably on the same level in terms of marketability. However, I think you’re more marketable with the CIS concentration. Would you be able to do the same concentration at Fullerton (If you’re enjoying it - want to pursue careerwise)?

I wouldn’t say the student body is stronger at Fullerton…perhaps I’m wrong.

One other thing to consider: Business is extremely popular at the Cal States…you may have some difficulty getting classes. I don’t know if the Cal Poly campuses are as affected. If you aren’t having difficulty getting classes at Pomona, I think I’d stay there - even though the commute is longer.

You should stay at Cal Poly, and live in the dorms if the commute bothers you. Believe you me, the time you’ll save not driving will be worth the extra cost of living on campus. You may also want to brush up a little on your grammar.
