Cal Poly Pomona provisional admit

I got provisionally admitted to Cal Poly Pomona for the term Fall 2011. I have a overall high school GPA of 3.21 unweighted and around a 3.35 weighted. I got a D in first semester biology sophomore year and I never retook it nor did I put on my application that I was going to retake it (I got a C the second semester) That is the only "A-G" Requirement I am missing. I meet the CSU minimum eligibility index as well. Everything is met except for that one semester of Biology. Will that be enough to revoke my admission? I maintained a 3.7 GPA first semester senior year and am looking to do the same second semester.
What are the chances that they would rescind my admission decision?
If they were to revoke my admission, why even provisionally admit me in the first place?
Thanks for any help!

The people that know the answer work in the admissions office at Cal Poly. Call them! Its not like they’re not going to see the grade when they get your final transcript, and if you talk to them now they might be able to suggest something you can do (summer class, take it at a CC, etc) in case it matters for your admission. If you wait until they go over your transcript then it will be too late to do anything. And maybe if you call them you’ll find out its ok and set your mind at ease.

If you do not have another bio class in it’s place, I think it will be a problem, but as the previous poster said, call the school. Call them right away because maybe you can take some type of online course before the end of the year. As far as I know the CSU schools in CA are not allowing students to make up courses in the summer.

I understand that for some classes (language and math) if you get at least a c in the second semester or take the next level and pass with at least a c it will count.

One other thing that you can do is look at your application on the CSU mentor. Does it say all requirements have been met? If it does I think you are fine.

As to the question why would they provisionally admit you …because they assumed you knew what the requirements are and that you would satisfy those requirements for before you graduated. In fact that is why the admission is provisional. Please, please call the school. The semester is not over and maybe something can be done…like an online course. Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the help, guys. Anyone else know from personal experience or have any input? Much appreciated
