Cal Poly Pomona Spring 2020 Transfer Application Thread

Hi all,

I couldn’t find one of these so I thought I’d make my own. Roll call for everyone who applied for Spring 2020 transfer

Major: Criminology // Alternate Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.62
AA-T/AS-T: AA in General Studies from Community College of RI (2015 / Non-Trad Student)
Pre-reqs: N/A
Golden 4: All completed/All A’s
Area: Long Beach
Other schools applied to: CSUF

I’m a little nervous because my degree is from out of state, and I’ve been having some issues with the CSU system and LBCC trying to convince me I will essentially need to redo my entire Associate’s degree (which is, if you ask me, utter nonsense). CSU counselors keep telling me to ask at my local CC what to do, and LBCC keeps telling me to ask the CSU counselors. I am also a little nervous because I have 50 transferable units + 12 CLEP units (=62 units). That said, my partner nearly accepted a job in Antelope Valley last year and I was admitted to CSUB, however, the move ended up not happening and as such I did not commit to CSUB.

Anyway. Hi and good luck to all! I hope we all make it.

Hey! I’ve recently submitted an application for CPP Spring 2020 as well, and was hoping I’d find someone who was going through the same process as myself. It’s nice to know we’re getting this started lol.
Major: Computer Information Systems
Alt Major: Technology and Operations Management
GPA: 3.62
AS-T: Business Administration
Pre Reqs: All have been completed (not RECOMMENDED pre reqs, just the required ones)
Golden 4: All completed
Area: Inland Empire/Rialto
Do not stress over your application! I’m sure everything will turn out fine. My first year was completed at a private school so I can somewhat relate to having issues with credits transferring and counselors giving me all kinds of confusing run around trying to match course descriptions and whatnot. Best of luck to you! I will post my acceptance/denial status as soon as I get informed! Best of luck!

Ayo, GPA twins! Hahaha  Good luck to you as well! I know checking the portal pretty much until late September/October is useless (and even then it might be a stretch to expect a decision so soon…) but I hope we both hear back soon. Thanks for the response!

I submitted my application on 8/30
Major: Music General Studies
GPA: 2.27
AA-T : Music
62 units by Spring
Golenfour (will be finished by Spring)
Area: Local (Citrus College)
My transfer advisor told me its a guarantee admission for local area students but I am still not sure and nervous!

Good luck @soserena ! I’m surprised this thread is so quiet. If it’s only us 3 applying our chances are looking great haha!

Yes, it’s surprising that no one has heard anything by now.

I just got an acceptance email this past Thursday, from UCR already, but their application period was July 1-31st. I figure we’ll hear from CPP within this month of October since their app was open August 1-31st.

I hope they respond before the fall 2020 application deadline. There was such a limited amount of CSUs accepting spring transfers… sucks if we don’t hear back in time or do and end up paying double bc of fall fees, to not miss out. Ugh!

I hope so because most CSUs want you to accept/deny offer by Dec. 1. That way they can admit people on the waitlist.

Still nothing today! Booo

Waitlisted !

Hey guys ! What’s up? I applied for 2020 for industrial engineering. Does anyone know when we should expect to receive an answer ?

Hi everyone! I applied to CPP on 8/30 and I am still waiting for a response. My transfer situation is a little odd because I am currently attending CSUF for Fall 2019 after I trasnferred there from a CC with an AA-T. Long story short, I feel like a switch to CPP would be a good choice for me for a lot of reasons, so here I am.

GPA: 3.9
Golden Four: A, A, A, A
AA-T in History from Mt. SAC
Major: History Pre-Credential

Good luck to everyone! It seems like not a whole lot of people have heard responses back from CPP. I’ve been eyeing the Spring 2020 transfer threads from other CSUs and it seems like CSULB has been hearing back for awhile now and CSUF just started sending acceptances in waves. Hopefully CPP will pick up the pace soon…

Hey everyone!
I am also attempting to transfer to CPP for spring. I applied on 8/30 and still have not heard a response. Since I’m impatient and have been checking my status daily, I called CPP Admissions last week and asked when they would notify applicants of their decisions. Their receptionist informed me that they are behind because of the volume of applications they received for spring. So more people will start to receive their decisions at the end of October to mid-November. I hope this helps!

Hey guys! So glad to see I’m not the only impatient one waiting for a response back!
I applied To transfer to Cal Poly Pomona for Spring 2020 the last week of August. My Major is liberal studies and my GPA is a 2.6. I’m currently taking my last class which is social science statistics at my CC, but I will be done this fall. I was rejected at CSUF for not having this class already done but luckily CPP doesn’t require it to be done yet. Fingers crossed for all of you!!

Mid November!

FYI, I just saw I was denied. I’m surprised CPP denied me but CSUF admitted me with honors, in one of their early wave admission blasts. Funny how life works sometimes, I guess. CPP was my first choice.

GPA 3.62, GenEd AA from Community College of RI, Criminology applicant.

Hi everyone, I also applied to transfer in Spring 2020. I am currently waitlisted at CPP but was accepted at CSUF. Has anyone that is waitlisted heard back from CPP at all? Getting nervous.

Here’s my stats too.
Major: Political Science
Alt. Major: History
GPA: 3.1 (with boost)
AA-T : Political Science
Area: Non-local (from the Coachella Valley)

I got a denial from CPP today as well, which I’m shocked about because I got accepted for Fall 2019, but did not pass my math class, so withdrew my Fall application and reapplied for Spring. I can’t believe I got into CSUF and not CPP. CSUF was my top choice though, so no complaints here just mild shock.

I’m shocked you guys, I was denied as well. I’m kind of in disbelief because my GPA was very high with the .1 ADT boost. On top of that, History is not impacted. I’m so lost now. Is this a mistake? You guys had GPAs that should have for sure made it in. I don’t know what to think right now.
