Cal Poly Pomona Transfers

Provisional acceptance
Urban Planning
3.14
Earned an AA communications degree spring 2011
norcal

Just got my provisional acceptance. Business Admin w/ Marketing Management major. 3.6 GPA w/ 69 CC units (82 by end of spring semester). Waiting to hear from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and SDSU before I make a final decision.

Looks like they rolled out the provisional admits yesterday. Just saw the one for my son who is a Business Admin major from NorCal community college, 3.4 GPA.

Pretty quick turnaround required to submit transcripts (2/21). Need to submit rush order since comm. college is slow about it.

:/ Haven’t heard anything.
I have a 3.4 transferring from citrus.
Graduated High school in '04 and actually attended cal poly for a bit.
there is a hold on my account from like '05 and im worried that the hold may be affecting the decision.
citrus is a local school and my gpa should be high enough to get in.
i don’t know :frowning:
this sucks.

I haven’t heard anything yet either, but I think that’s because I applied to an impacted major. Guess those of us who are still left in the dark just have to keep waiting

I’m a Psychology transfer from ELAC. I submitted my official transcripts in mid June. Now my application states “eligible for consideration.” Does anyone know what that means?

I would just call them up and ask. You’ll have to wait through like 10 minutes of prerecorded menu options, but once you get through they should answer your question. My status has been “Referred to impacted plan” for two weeks now

Hey guys,

I am a transfer student with 108 units (change of major) who applied as a ChemE. major with Industrial as a backup. Currently at Palomar, with a 2.97 gpa but with all the pre-requisites done. Cal Poly is my number 1 choice and I have pretty much been worried ****less. I got accepted to San Jose (ChemE) and San Marcos (applied physics).

So my GPA right now is 3.7, and it could get higher by the end of Spring. I want to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona for Architecture. So what is my chance? btw, do you know when I should get notified from Cal Poly for admission status? They required me to send them initial transcripts and I did. My application status right now is “Ready for Review”… But I’m pretty worried.

and i’m not a local transfer

Last year I was in the same boat, basically losing my mind over my status. Got in as a Bio transfer with a 3.1 gpa on April 6th.

One thing that really helped was that another transfer student set up a facebook group for all the transfer students coming in last fall. It was really awesome to start school with a built in network of friends.

I highly suggest someone start that up.

Applied for psychology with 3.0 gpa and going to have an AA-T. Is this a low gpa because I’ve been rejected by CSULB and CSUF :(

Transfers aren’t just about GPA, they look at the coursework you have completed as well.

I’ve done all the requirements and a little extra. But I do have some coursework not related to psychology where I’ve gotten a couple of C’s (I think 4 total). Are my chances at Cal Poly unlikely now? BroncoDirect status is still “ready for review”.

For psychology in the '12 admission cycle 2,205 people applied for psychology. 817 got in. 37% acceptance rate. Doesn’t give any details about transfers getting in specifically other than the overall number of transfers that applied and got in to Cal Poly Pomona.

Cal Poly Pomona had 9,970 transfers apply and accepted 5,927. Almost 60%. The previous year only 34% of transfers were admitted. Not sure how the turn out will be this year.

As long as you’ve got your golden four completed, it goes by GPA. The longer it takes for you to hear back, the more people above you are being considered.

Super Excited! I just checked my portal and I was provisionally admitted.
Mechanical Engineering

Congrats mechguy and FremontCA. Still nothing on my portal… I’m starting to get pretty doubtful haha

we had to send in transcripts?

If you applied to an impacted major then yes you had to send in transcripts
