Cal Poly Pomona, UCLA, ASU (Barretts), Pepperdine?

Hi-Apart from your opinion on if I can even get in to any of these schools do you think I can get any aid (that is not financial/FAFSA)?

GPA: 3.3/3.6
ACT: 31
8 AP courses (all 4s and one 5 on Lang.)
CA Resident (LA area)
ECs: red cross (chapter president), science club (president), pretty decent FIRST robotics team (business president), NHS
Awards: robotics (chairman's 2 yrs), red cross banner up youth gold seal, President's Volunteer Service Award (9th- bronze, 10th & 11th gold)

LEMME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY MORE INFO

You are seeking merit aid?? You have a good ACT (not outstanding), but your GPA will hold you back. Have you calculated your CSU/UC GPA? <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

I would say with your ACT score, you have a chance for a merit scholarship such as Chancellors or Highlander Excellence at UCR but I wouldn’t count on any other schools giving you any type of merit aid in California. I would take UCLA off your list since it is a reach school based on your Stats. My younger son had an ACT of 31 and UC GPA of 3.73 and was offerred the Chancellors Scholarship at UCR for $10k/year. He was not admitted to any other UC’s and the Cal States offerred no merit.
I am not sure what type of scholarships Pepperdine has to offer, but you do have a chance for acceptance. ASU (Barretts) is very competitive and again your GPA will hurt your chances. ASU is an acceptance but I do not think it will be Barretts.

CPP: Match
Pepperdine: High Match
ASU (Barretts): High Match/Low Reach
UCLA: Reach

Thanks- my UC GPA is 3.4 btw

Would you suggest that I retake the ACT?

I would add with a 31 ASU/Barrett is an acceptance from Ca, you may well get a decent grant for OOS, check out the calculator. Good AP’s are taken into account at ASU

@Englishman I checked the calculator and put in my scores and stuff (even played around with WUE~which I am eligible for)- the thing is that when I talked to someone from admissions that they said not all aid is factored into the calculator or something (basically every person tells me something slightly different). THANK YOU THOUGH <3
