Cal Poly Pomona vs. Cal State Fullerton for Information Systems

What the title says. I understand Cal Poly Pomona gives the option to select an elective track. I would choose application development. Can someone tell me what I would learn in those classes? I was set on transferring to Cal Poly Pomona but Fullerton got back to me way last minute and admitted me so I’m stuck on which school to choose for Information Systems.

Honestly, Cal Poly Pomona is more prestigious than Cal State Fullerton. I work in IT and I don’t know anyone from any other Cal State. I’ve only met Cal Poly alumni out here besides UC alums.

Hello, I worked in IT for chico state. How can i get a job in your department?

so - are your choices between a CC then applying to CPP or going straight to Fullerton?

If so, CPP is a maybe, and Fullerton is a known path. If you can afford it, I’d go to Fullerton. It is a good school with a solid reputation.

What do you do?

@CalDud what do you do?

@Whitexii : I’m a mid-level software engineer. At my previous job, I wrote a lot of C# financial application pieces and did some reporting in SQL. Today, I work at a company where I do all sorts of things; I help manage and balance servers, I use VB script, Java Script, SQL, DB2, Java to work on/manage web apps, do reporting, and write SSIS packages. I still work in the financial side of the healthcare industry.
