Cal Poly Pomona vs. Cal State Long beach

I am a fashion design student about to graduate from a community college with my AA degree. I am looking to get my Bachelor's degree in fashion design from a higher learning institution. I have been looking at Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Long Beach because they are around my general area and they have good design programs. My question is which school would be a better choice based on quality of education and chances of getting ahead in the industry?

Both are good CSUs. CSULB probably is a little more well-known, but Pomona is closer to possible places to intern.

Ultimately, your success in fashion will depend much more on work experience than college career.

I would say Cal Poly Pomona is better known for academics and CSULB for athletics. Check out both websites and see if you can get a better feeling. Neither program is within a “design” college. At CPP it’s in the college of agriculture while at LB it’s within “family and consumer services”, and not in their art and design department. In general CPP is well known for their “hands on” labs and connections with industry.
