Hello. I want to major in animal science or animal health science.
GPA:3.5
SAT: 1070/1600
ACT: 24
You’re going to have to include more than that for an accurate estimate. What school do you want to go to? What extracurriculars do you have? What grade are you currently in?
Cal poly Pomona, 11th and I don’t have extracurricular but I am planning to volunteer at an animal shelter and possibly get a job at my local animal clinic this summer.
Your chances are pretty good, but I’d definitely try to get some extracurriculars ASAP. You seem to be a match for both GPA and SAT scores, but not having any extracurriculars at all will definitely hurt your chances.
@college731797 The Common Data Set for CPP says that it does not consider extracurricular activities. (See part C7). https://www.cpp.edu/~irar/CommonDataSet/CommonDataSetDocs/cds2016.pdf. Look at the ACT breakdown in part C9 and you’ll see that half the class had an ACT below 24. Average GPA is 3.45. (C12). So based on those facts, I think you look good for CPP.
Your stats are a match. If the rest of your application is strong, you’re likely to get in.
OP, read the info on the CPP webpage about how they admit.https://www.cpp.edu/~admissions/undergraduate/freshman/before/requirements-deadlines.shtml Factors that affect how admission is done include whether your major is impacted and whether you are from OOS or outside the local area. Doesn’t look to me like animal science is impacted. https://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/ImpactedProgramsMatrix.pdf. Calculate your Eligibility Index.
Animal Science is an impacted major at Cal Poly Pomona according to the CPP website. For impacted majors, you can select an alternate non-impacted major in case you are not accepted into your 1st choice. Also impacted majors have higher admission criteria, so I would try to bump up your test scores and GPA prior to applying.

For the College of Agriculture, the average was a 3.57 GPA and a 1020/ 1600 SAT, but this was including all majors. Since the Animal majors are impacted, your GPA is probably low and your SAT slightly low.
