Cal Poly Pomona - Winter Transfer 2018

I’m still on academic department review

@mdmich status changed to Admitted Clear last night for me.

@MajorSwindle just checked and I am provisionally admitted. So glad I know now.

Sooo I accepted the offer but I did on Saturday when the orientation was on Friday :expressionless: anyone else on the same boat?

@mdmich Yep, this guy. Says I’m not eligible to register for orientation… gonna call first thing tomorrow. Will update.

@MajorSwindle I’ll do the same and report back here. Hope it doesn’t change much. Fingers crossed.

Sooo they sad they would create an online orientation thru email for those of us that were admitted late so we are all good!

they should email us soon if not give orientation services a call.

@mdmich yep got the same answer as well.

I applied as a transfer for Apparel Merchandising & Manufacturing and my status is still ‘pending admissions decision’ and it’s giving me major anxiety. Anyone else in the same boat?..

Hi @alainekristina , I am on “Decision Pending” and I’ve been on that status since November 9th. The strange part is that I am a Veteran with a 4.0 GPA and an Associates Degree in Economy and an Associate’s Degree for Transfer in Business Administration which gives me a 0.1 GPA boost which puts me at 4.1 GPA. Being a Veteran AND having an AS-T I have DOUBLE priority for Admission, and yet I am still pending. School starts in almost 2 weeks. Luckily I have the school’s Veterans Resource Center (VRC) to complain about my situation so the Director of the VRC will be contacting the Admissions Office for me. BTW I’m transferring for the Business Major so its NOT Impacted.

is anyone still taking classes during the Fall of your college before going to CPP for winter and know if they will request transcripts for Fall grades?

hey I am taking classes in the fall at my other school, do you know if they will request final transcripts for classes taken during fall 2017 for winter admission?

@collegegirl111111 They will need the Official Fall Transcripts, but they will request them first, kinda of how they requested to get your Official Transcripts when you sent you application.

@Rubz93 thank you for replying. Are you sure? how do you know? I thought the cut off for classes being used for admission was summer?

Hi @collegegirl111111, I think as soon as your current grades are in your current school’s system you should send them. I’m attending cpp this winter and that’s what I plan on doing.

@mdmich Thanks for replying. I dont want to do that because I think I might fail one class at another CSU and be put on academic probation :frowning: I dont want them to rescind my admission.

@collegegirl111111 hate to be the bearer of bad news but if that class is a transfer requirement, you might get denied for admission. I’d arrange a appointment with a CPP counselor and get a professional opinion.

@MajorSwindle I would of thought so too, but I already have over 60 transferable credits.

@collegegirl111111 You’re fine. Your current fall semester had no impact on CPP’s decision to admit you–the cut off for class consideration was summer, as you already know.

You need to eventually send in your fall transcript but it’s for the purpose of keeping your student records up to date, it has nothing to do with your winter admission. They accepted you based off what you finished up to SUMMER '17, which by then you should already have all your transfer reqs.

The F will bring down your GPA but that’s all that’ll happen to you.

Also, you’ve already registered for classes at CPP right? That means you’re officially a CPP student now.

@Rubz93 Business isn’t impacted but when I went to orientation on the 1st, in the entire room literally 60%+ of the people who rose up for college of business were that major. So it’s definitely popular. Still, with your stats you should have gotten in no problem so hopefully they’ll fix that up for you asap.

@messybun thanks for replying. I am still kind of worried because I will be placed on academic probation at that CSU because of that one class. Do you think being on academic probation at the CSU could revoke my admission?
