Hi guys!
I'm going to be a senior next year and have decided that cal poly is my top choice. I'm looking at pre-health , animal science , engineering majors and I was wondering if it's easier at least for engineering to get in as a girl and also what it takes to get into these majors. Thank you!

Here is the Cal Poly Freshman Profile for in-coming Freshman last year (2013). I was unable to find data yet for 2014. <a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions;
Cal Poly SLO uses Freshman grades in their GPA calculation versus the other CSU’s and a point system to determine eligibility and acceptances. Please note that you get the highest bonus points for extra years of Math and Science classes.

The School of Agriculture is the easier of the college to gain admittance while the School of Engineering is the hardest. Being female may help to some extent and you do have to declare a major on your application. It is definitely easier to switch majors from Engineering to Animal Science than the other way around.
You are on the right track but admissions this year were very competitive. Good Luck!!
