Cal Poly Regular Decision Thread 2016-2017

anyone got acceptance for software engineering?

has wine and vit come out yet???

Yes about 9 people posted business yesterday

@northwest22 can you share your stats?

when should out of state architecture hear back??

Is everyone sure that next week they don’t grab a handful of kids from the lower numbers groups and say, “Hey, these kids got chutzpah to apply. We could use more swag. Let’s stoke 'em out and add some”?

(I know, I know. :frowning: )

Got in BME!

applied under computer engineering, portal hasn’t changed. probably didn’t get in, but congrats to those who did!

A lot of people are saying that most acceptances for the colleges came out yesterday, but i haven’t heard anything about journalism! Did anyone get in?

@cmkonnor I’m really sorry. They heard back two days ago. I know it sucks, but if it still says “there is no determination” on your portal, it just means that they are deciding whether or not to waitlist or reject you. You will still have a chance to get off the waitlist, though! Everyone I know last year who got waitlisted ended up getting in

@cmkonnor OOS’s already heard back…day before yesterday. I can’t say 100% that ALL majors for OOS heard back, but pretty sure that’s what happened.

Just got accepted into Cal Poly for Computer Engineering In State!!!

@Dankiel Do you know your friend’s stats who got accepted for psychology?

I am trying to find out if my friend made it into journalism, but I don’t think she has checked her portal. I will let you know @emsibz

Son accepted for CS, in-state, MCA of ~ 5000.

OK - FOR ALL NOT ACCEPTED in this first notification - ALL is not lost. I just spoke with the CP Admissions office, and they said there will be a continuation of notifications over the next few weeks through March. If you did not get in this first wave, chances are less - obviously, but there is still a chance. The portal will update if you have been securely denied - but my understanding is that the intricate balance of acceptances and “enrollees” is a tricky one, and it may just be that you are on the next tier of acceptances, or if someone declines their acceptance, which of course will not be known until April 1. So, No news is just that, NO NEWS - it doesn’t mean denial it just means slimmer chances, but WTH - you have nothing to lose by checking a couple times a week for the next month or so - who knows?
The Admissions office was very clear - if the definitive answer is NO, as your app has been reviewed, then the portal will update with that immediately. Good Luck everyone - I have my fingers/toes and all that I can crossed for good news for my D by then. Hopefully CPP and SDSU are more straightforward.
