Hello. I'm currently a high school senior and I have applied to Cal Poly SLO for fall 2007 (along with other CSUs.) If someone could give me an idea of what my chances are, I'd really appreciate it.

Major: Business Administration

Alternate major: Graphic Communication

a-g course GPA: 3.27

SAT I scores: Critical Reading - 620
Math - 550

Writing - 670

Combined score: 1840

ECs inlclude 1-5 hours of athletics per week.

Other Schools I've applied for:

CSU San Diego
CSU Channel Islands
CSU Long Beach
CSU Northridge

I will be taking the SAT again on December 2nd.

Your chances aren't looking too great, unfortuantely. The averages for business are around a 3.9 weighted gpa with a 1260 reading/math. San Diego and Long Beach look like better matches, alothough san diego has a pretty high gpa requirement. Maybe look at UCR, UCM, and UCSC as well. Your writing SAT score will help you at the UC's.

Thanks. What about the alternate major, Graphic Communication? I'm not clear on alternate majors. If they decide to reject me for Business Admin., will they consider accepting me for Graphic communication or is that competitive as well? I really like this school.

By the way, I have not taken Subject tests and I was not planning on going to school in the UC system out of high school.

i have a related question on CSU's. After we fill out an online application, are we suppose to send in a transcript or is it like UCs where we send in a final one if we choose to go.

b151, I think the transcipts are sent to the school you decide on. I'd call to make sure sure, though.

PC- I know graphic comm. has a great rep at SLO. One of my friends went to slo after growing up in maryland b/c the department is one of the best in the nation. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with its admission requirements.
