Cal Poly SLO Business Transfer Question

What is the average GPA for Cal Poly SLO Transfers into the Business Admin major?

Also I don’t know if this is true or not but, does not having all your major req done by the time you APPLY affect your chances of being accepted? I know they will probably give you till spring to finish all of them but I’m wondering if you don’t have it done by the time you apply will it hurt?

I’m a prospective 2013 student (Currently Freshmen starting his spring quarter soon in a CC)

Thank you!

Well i cant directly answer your question but i may be able to provide some idea nonetheless.

I applied as a buisness transfer for this year and got waitlisted.
The only stats that matter are : GPA, Courses, Work experience (this barely matters tho).

I had a 3.8 GPA and every course completed that is required and recommended.

As for whether or not having classes completed or not by spring matters; no. They need to be done by summer.

Hopefully this provides some sort of context for you

3.8 and you got wait listed? That’s astonishing. You seem like you’d be a shoe in. From everything I read the average GPA for a transfer in the business major was around the 3.5 neighborhood.

Also when you said, “As for whether or not having classes completed or not by spring matters; no. They need to be done by summer.” did you mean completed by when you apply? Because that’s what I was asking lol

yes Business Admin is a competitive major in Cal Poly. I know for even transfering within Cal Poly you need a 3.5 to transfer. I hope you best of luck

yea the website info is outdated. Last few years the average GPA to transfer in has skyrocketed. mainly due to the substantial increase year-over-year of applications.

Um im not sure what your asking but to reiterate, you have to have all of those classes finished by the end of your spring semester. BEFORE summer.

I transferred this past year with a 3.9 GPA so I would say you would want something at least in that range.

I don’t know if this addresses exactly the OP’s question, but the average GPA of new transfer students enrolling Fall 2011 in the Orfalea College of Business was 3.42. 16.7% of transfer applicants to Orfalea were accepted.

I am a transfer student majoring in Business Administration and got accepted into Cal Poly for fall 2012. I have a 4.0 GPA. Is anyone sure when transfers register? Is anyone majoring in business or going to live on the on campus apartments?
