Cal Poly SLO Business transfer

GPA: 3.42 (3.51 currently but they don't update grades)
EC: 3 years of EC activities coaching at a local High School
- I am going to earn my AA-T(Associates for transfer) before transferring
- I earned "A's" on every course required for Business Admin on assist.org
- I currently live in California (I don't know if that factors into it?)
- I'm transferring from De Anza College

I'm a little stressed with my chances because I've been seeing people get rejected with 4.0GPA's (which doesn't make sense to me) so it seems like I've got no chance. Thanks!

I think you still have a pretty good chance. Your GPA is way above the minimum that’s needed. Maybe you should apply to a few UCs and see if you get in (:

Thank you, I really hope so. I did apply to a few UC’s, though I’m not too sure I’ll get in. I applied to UCLA, Irvine and Riverside.

I think UCLA is possible, and UCI and UCR should happen with your GPA. :)

I think the previous posts were not entirely aware of the admission stats for UC or Cal Poly. UCLA does not have undergraduate business school, and their transfer GPA is probably higher than Cal Poly’s even via TAG.

Cal Poly b-school average transfer GPA: 3.51
B-school transfer acceptance rate: 12%

So you are somewhat below average, it will not be slam dunk. But you should have a shot.

Sounds like I’m in the same boat as you, except i have a 3.15 GPA. I applied from De Anza as well, I’m nervous to see the results. Seems like you have a better chance than me. We’ll see! Good luck.

@jstevens92 Thanks man, I got into Cal Poly earlier this week. I hope you get in man, let me know how it goes for you!
