Cal Poly SLO Chances??

Applied Early Decision
Major: Agriculture Business
CSU Weighted GPA: 3.58
SATs (w/ math + reading only): 1230
I am super involved but(t) Cal Poly really doesn't care about that :)

Compare to this year’s freshmen here:
[Prospective Students - Admissions - Cal Poly](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)

Business…: GPA:3.82 SAT:1222
Your Stats: GPA:3.58 SAT:1230

Your SAT is a tiny, tiny bit higher and your GPA is a little bit lower than last year’s averages. You are definitely correct that Cal Poly doesn’t care that much about extra curriculars, but those few questions at the end of your application are still more than you will find on an app to any other CSU (which have 0). Overall I’d say you chances are okay, but not great. I’m sorry to say it but .24 is a decent amount of difference, but by no means does it rule you out, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you got in.

Best of luck!!! I’m applying to SLO as well =D

I thought the major Agriculture Business falls under the “Agriculture” college rather than the “Business” college, therefore making my chances greater. Am I correct in this assumption?
Agriculture…: GPA:3.69 SAT:1138 COMPARED TO Business…: GPA:3.82 SAT:1222

Haha yeah my bad, it is under AG you are corrct. (sorry =P)

With that change I’d say your chances are actually pretty decent considering you applied ED. 0.11 in GPA difference is not all that much to overcome and your SAT will Definitely help with that. Your still not totally in the clear, but your chances are a good bit better than what I said before.

Again, sorry for my mistake!

WOOOO! That’s no problem and thanks so much for your time! :)
