4685 out of 5000 MCA

@jordan816, I didn’t recalculate, but on first glance I think your MCA is higher, somewhere in the upper 4800s or lower 4900s. In any case, they’ll recalculate. Good job!

I’m applying ED for mechanical engineering. For middle school math grades, my school had a trimester system. Should I enter one grade under summer 1?

@Brickmaster7398 - Yes, you would enter one grade under summer.

@jordan816 I get an MCA of 4923 for you. Nice Work! If you are not getting in, I’m not sure who is. Good luck.

Deciding between 3 majors (architecture, construction management, or business admin.); in which of the 3 will i have the best chance of getting admitted? I am applying for ED.

@yoboiixevan Probably construction management but are you sure that is really something you want to do and not just an easier admit?

@collegesavanna, your chances are better than you think.

@swimdogmom I really want architecture. I want to pursue business in grad school. I admitt construction management is for an easier admit within the architecture college.

@yoboiixevan If you really want architecture, have you thought about CP Pomona? It’s a good arch school too but commonly doesn’t get its due consideration because of CP SLO. You can attempt to “back door” it through a transfer from CM to arch but know your chances beforehand and do the research on the CP CAED webpage on switching major requirements. They make it difficult because CP SLO discourages such an approach to a tough admit impacted major.

@eyemgh I would very much like your take on my chances.

Thank you

@poorrichboy, I really don’t have much of a handle on chances for any majors that aren’t engineering and they are even still guesswork. The thing is, GPA counts for more that anything else in the MCA score and a 3.2 will drop you over 500 points from the possible 2250. Did you account for honors and/or AP in your GPA calculation?

I already submitted my app, but for the GPA I put my 9th-11th gpa (which was lower than my 10th to 11th). Should I call and tell them or will they recalculate it?

Call admissions. They’re friendly and helpful. Good luck.
