@michelle0626 My friend and I have recieved waitlist notices for Engineering, just a heads up

@stevoleeto Do you think since they are sending out waitlist notifications that the engineering depts are full and are done accepting students?

@stevoleeto thank you, when did you hear and what type of engineering?

I’m a business administration applicant. Starting my appeal letter now lol. Highly doubt they come out with a second wave.

@michelle0626 Both my friend and I found out last Friday. Computer Engineering.

@MatTheME I highly doubt that. To be honest I don’t think there is any specific order that they do these things… Just be patient to see your decision reflected in the portal. Don’t get all tied up with any correlations or patterns that they’re doing with admissions.

Best of luck to the both of you! I hope you guys get it. But ultimately don’t sweat about it, I’m sure you guys applied to other great schools as well.

My application status shows that I have been placed on the waitlist when I checked it early morning today. Agriculture & Plant science.

I’ve been placed on the waitlist for Business Administration.

I’ve also been waitlisted for business. I was sort of hoping for a rejection over the WL. This way I wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore and I could start focusing on other schools… the wait goes on.

How do you find out you’re on the waitlist?

Edit: App still says:
Thank you for applying to Cal Poly. We have received your application. No determination has been made at this time.

From the portal:
You have been placed on the waitlist at Cal Poly for fall. You will be emailed a survey confirming if you would like to remain on the waitlist or no longer be considered for admission to Cal Poly. Once you receive email, respond promptly to the survey.

I didn’t get an email or text.

Thanks @GED2Degree. It looks like I’m going to be rejected since I didn’t even get placed on the waiting list. I think it’s a good thing to be in the waiting list because at least you know that you had a shot at it if it wasn’t for that acceptance capacity that they have

I didn’t get an email too

Waitlisted for Business Administration. No email.

portal still says application received. nothing about a wait list. oh well

ACCEPTED today at 3:04 pm; no email.
3.39 gpa.
igetc and major prep will be completed by the end of this quarter along with AS-T.
Major: Business Administration
I already knew I was going to get in, but will end up choosing at UC Santa Barbara because uc>state school.
Keep your head up guys.

Waitlisted - Business Admin. I think it was mainly because I only had 2 core classes done my first year haha. IGETC will be completed by the end of this quarter and call major classes will be done by the end of the spring. 3.68 GPA with 53 quarter units already completed at the time I applied with 18 in progress that fall quarter. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted and hope you guys enjoy SLO if it’s your first choice.

@civilmechanical i am not local to SLO

Waitlisted for Business Admin as well. Still haven’t received the survey email. Found out by checking my portal tonight…how do some of you guys know the exact time the decision was reflected on your portal? I didn’t receive a text or anything.

I don’t get how I was not accepted or even waitlisted for business administration. I have better stats than everyone that has posted, with a 3.75 and igetc/major classes done by spring. (Only had 2 major classes left in fall/spring).

@yoloswagswerve69 I’m not sure if this is fact, but reading around other threads I discovered some believe it’s because you are “overqualified” for the school and they believe you will be attending a different school even if you get into Cal Poly. I’m not sure if this is the case with you considering a 3.75 isn’t too out of the league of CPSLO.

You also don’t seem to have a AA-T which seems to be consistent in many of the people who were accepted.
