Cal Poly SLO Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Waiting…
Major: Art and Design, studio art
GPA: 3.66
All GE are done, reqs are done after this quarter. Most of desired courses will be done by next quarter.
I want to know sooooon :(

@RoysGoin2College October 20th.

Anyone know of any computer science/engineering transfers that got in yet?

@cidzor I applied for computer engineering and haven’t heard anything yet. I’m nervous as hell

So I’m guessing if we didn’t hear anything we didn’t get in?
Major: Civil Engineering GPA is 3.72. I am finishing IGETC this semester, and after this semester I will still need 3 more desired courses.

Any Engineer majors with similar stats get in?

I applied for ME with a 3.2, with IGETC and will all required/desired courses taken care of (plus an extra computer programming course). I go to Cuesta, and have been for the last 4 years, so I’m hoping that will help me out. So far I know of a CE, Bio Engr, & Environmental Engr getting in with stats,stated respectively, of 3.9,3.0, and 3.2. My girlfriend just got accepted into psychology last night, with a 3.7…so I hope I get in!!! Keep your fingers crossed people!

Accepted!
I was accepted friday morning for Environmental Engineering.
GPA: 3.51
All required and recommended courses completed
Many extracurriculars

Got Accepted a couple days ago for Business Administration
Transfer out of a community college in California (Moorpark College)

well you guys are lying because my friends and I have good stats and it still says no determination on our portals, but nice try though. good luck to all! still pending!

@joogman23 what’s your major?

I have to agree with @joogman23.

Major: Business Administration
GPA: 3.5
Igetc completed and AS-T.

Still no determination…
There’s people on here with better stats than me that haven’t heard either yet @markboogie gets in already with a 3.42… Very hard to believe. There are either people lying on this thread or there’s another wave of acceptances coming this week.

@sdsu2014 there’s another wave coming, so hold on for that

@jjjcccddd my major is businessadmin. gpa 3.41 with as-t major prep and igetc will be completed by end of spring. from the bay area as well, Diablo Valley College.

I agree with @sdsu2014 how could an elf like markboogie get in first before any of these people in this thread. We call that kind of person a LIAR. #bigNOSE

@joogman23 @sdsu2014
Cal poly sent me an email with this link in it:
<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions;

People have been accepted already.

I sincerely hope you guys are not accusing someone of lying - you need to take the time to research how Cal Poly scores transfer applicants before making accusations. A student with a 3.41 GPA can easily have a higher score than someone with a 4.0.

http://www.act.org/epc/ppt/EPC%202013%20F1.2%20Maraviglia%20Amos.pdf</a></p>

@DeskFan I don’t doubt that some people have been admitted. I’m not sure of your stats but that link pretty much proves you were admitted. I just find it hard to believe that some people with far worse stats than myself and others who haven’t heard back are already admitted. Others were saying that all admissions for Business Admin have been sent out. I’m assuming another wave is coming tomorrow and later this week for the rest of business admin.

Whether someone is lying or not about their admission status is on them. If they’re truly lying, it only hurts them because they’re lying to themselves. At the most, it just makes others feel a bit jumpy because they haven’t gotten accepted yet. But don’t be going around and accusing people of lying. That’s straight out rude and what if they’re not lying?

GPA isn’t everything- according to the other thread that gives a link to ACT’s site with how they accept applicants for SLO: <a href=“An Interesting Read on The Admittance Process - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - College Confidential Forums”>An Interesting Read on The Admittance Process - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - College Confidential Forums;

They include EC’s, leadership work, and other variables that the accepted applicants might have. And if they didn’t do any of those, then they got lucky somehow. But still, it’s early in the game. Chill out- it’s not even late March (before the April 1 deadline).

Aaaaand I haven’t gotten accepted or anything to SLO so this message isn’t significantly biased.

@DeskFan what major are you and what are your stats? Also where are you located

Guys, I don’t think people who said that they were accepted are lying. I find no reasons for them to have to lie to others. I have 4.0 when I applied, and it’s still “no determination” I am a transfer student, live in Sacramento, so I am in-state. Major: Mechanical Engineering.

A friend of mine(same school) has been accepted as Civil Engineering last Friday, and his stat is decent. His gpa is much lower than mine, so don’t assume that higher stat student will automatically get in. I am feeling so down now. Hopefully there’s another wave coming.
