I also applied to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCI, UCSD, and San Jose State.
I got accepted to San Jose too!
If I get rejected from Berkeley, Cal Poly is definitely my second choice.
Congrats. Cal Poly is up there with the top UCs
@meksa++
Thank you! I’m still waiting on UCs but SLO is one of my top schools.
Just to let you guys know, my last name starts with an E and I heard back 2/18/2016.
So maybe it is alphabetical?
But 2 friends, one who’s last names starts with an H and one with a U heard back on the 18th too, both accepted.
My status changed on the 18th as well but I’m a W so i doubt it’s alphabetical.
By the way what is the acceptance rate for transfer students to SLO?
I believe the overall acceptance rate in 2014 was 31%
In-State
Major: Business Econ
IGETC: completed with AS-T Degree in Business
Major Prep: Completed at time of application
GPA: 3.9
EC’s: not going to really affect your status but I work at an accounting firm at the moment
I was accepted this past week for admission to Cal Poly so don’t give up people!
My situation was a little unique though because I did all my classes in two years and applied last year with a 4.0 for business admin and got DENIED. So i decided to stay one more year at JC and I took a calc 2 class and an arts class to fill some requirements for Cal Berkeley so this year I applied with all of my classes for Cal Poly and was accepted to econ. The funny thing about Cal Poly is the fact that the econ program is actually part of the school of business. So even though you apply to econ, you are still in the Orfalea college of business. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND applying for econ if you really want to get in because it is a little less impacted. And if you stay a third year at a JC, you can apply with all of your classes completed so that looks really good to the admission people at poly as well instead of applying with 4 classes in progress, and 4 classes planned. Again, don’t give up!
have any admitted students received an email from the school? I was admitted and I accepted, but I still have yet to receive an email from anyone confirming anything.
judging by previous years all the acceptance have already been sent out seems like I wasn’t selected. well life goes on lol.
I still have little hope that the remaining acceptances will be sent out next week…but we’ll see…
@golfislife was accepted thursday, yet still no email sent directly to me to notify me of my acceptance
i went onto the student portal yesterday to check and see if my personal email was in their records, and it wasn’t… so i had to enter it and hopefully that makes a difference with further communications from them (but we’ll see)

Accepted on 2/18
Major: Business Admin with Accounting
Major Prep: Finished Fall 2015
Igetc: Done this semester
Degrees: AS-T in Bus Admin and AA-T in Econ
GPA: 3.9
I called admissions and they said that official acceptance emails should be going out within the next week!
I applied to business admin for accounting. You think if I didn’t get accepted by now I won’t get in?
I would say give it through the end of this week. What are your other college options?
@Baylorpoly I’ve been admitted to CSULB and Pomona. I applied to USC, Northridge, Fullerton, USF, UCSB, And UCSC as well.
I haven’t followed much of any sort of Cal Poly discussions on here as Cal Poly is my backup, and have just been waiting on an email letting me know if I got in or not. I had yet to receive an email so I checked the my portal and was accepted for Fall 2016 for Business Admin.
It’s my top backup school, so glad to have been accepted.
My GPA is like 3.8 or so, non-traditional student (29 years old, veteran).
Best of luck to those still waiting to hear.
