Transferring for civil engineering. Just this afternoon my portal was updated to say that I’m wait listed.
Major: Nutrition
IGETC: Yes, by the end of spring 2016
Major Prep: Not completed. Still will have a few left after summer 2016.
GPA: 3.5
ECs: Currently employed, constant volunteer work as well as volunteering abroad in Fiji
ACCEPTED 2/24
I was actually pretty surprised considering my major prep will not be complete. I did take 20 credits last semester, as well as currently enrolled in 20. Completed last semester with a 3.7 GPA. Was told heavy course load with good grades is something schools take a liking too.
@calpoly101 ok, well hopefully I’m wrong, but why would they have waitlists already go out if they don’t have everyone accepted yet, doesn’t make any sense. Just my opinion though, and again, hopefully I’m wrong, but I highly doubt from my previous experience that I am.
Yeah seems strange that acceptances would go out after people are being waitlisted or rejected but based on major more than likely so pay attention specifically to the major who are trying to get in for.
@kpm2014 when you say you were told it looks good to take a heavy course load with good grades don’t they accept you before even seeing your transcripts? Cause I was told you only send them in once they accept you, but maybe I’m wrong
@justin7473 I’ve already prepared myself for the worst. I agree it doesn’t make sense but the fact that my friend got accepted on the 1st gives me the littlest bit of hope.
I thought decisions would be sent out March 1st but I just checked the website and it says April 1st. Is that new?
I think Apr 1 is the final date for denied notice. Admissions and waitlists are way before that, but if you’re not hearing anything now (like I am) you’re most likely rejected. Doesn’t mean 100%, but should be way up there according to previous years. Sad I know.
In-State: Allan Hancock College (Community College)
