So after reading all these post it does not look like I will get in… Cause I still have not seen anything change on my app/ portal… ):

@rainrain615 I haven’t seen one but I hope one starts soon!

Accepted

Major: Electrical Engineering

AA-T/AS-T?: no

What are the chances to be accepted from the wait list as a Nutrition major?

I just read on cal poly’s website that financial aid awards will be posted on portals no later than April 1st.
Getting into Slo is one thing… affording it is another. Im so nervous! I have no idea how much they award students. Good luck everyone!

In-State
IGETC: Completed
Major Prep: Computer Engineering - (took Intro, C, C++, Data Structures, Assembly Language, and Discrete Math)
GPA: 3.29
ECs: engineering club at my school, two jobs (math center at school and Mathnasium)
Status: Waitlisted (2/24)

I really want to petition this and get in from the waitlist since this is my #1! I heard that SLO doesn’t really like transfer students unless they are local…is that true?

I think they give preference to more local-ish people, but I was admitted and live in the northern SF Bay Area.

Don’t quote me on the first part, but I have heard people coming from Cuesta (for example), have better chances.

I’m from Virginia and got in.

So those of you that got accepted I.E. example, @jay956 How were you notified? Did they email you saying to check your portal or email you a congrats, or you just checked your portal and you were admitted?

The CSU’s will give priority to local applicants since they were set up to serve local area students, but this does not mean that if you are not local, you do not have a chance. For example, if you check SDSU’s transfer decisions, you will see a huge bias toward CCC local applicants to the dismay of many out of area CCC applicants.

@lkbeck93 I didn’t get any email when my portal was changed a couple weeks ago and found out by just randomly checking it. Incidentally, I finally got an email today congratulating and welcoming me.

Is anyone else having an issue with the housing application not loading?

@lkbeck93 as other have said the portal was updated first then a n email was sent about a week later. @Gumbymom has a good point. I also applied to SDSU and was denied.

@briank82 @sugarbabies3
I’ve only taken classes at a community college and I was admitted as a senior transfer, so I don’t think that matters. I do have around 100 semester units.
And I’m sorry about your husband, that’s crazy that ME is so competitive! :frowning:
I applied as EE and I don’t think it’s as competitive considering I got accepted.
@meganrf
I don’t think location has too much to do with it as long as you’re from Cali. I’m almost 4 hours away and I got accepted.
@lkbeck93
I never got any kind of acceptance letter or email at all. I just checked my portal. I have gotten calls from SWE and other Cal Poly programs though, as well as emails for other stuff.

@Stairs Yep I confirmed with an admissions rep that senior standing had no effect on their decision for ME, it’s just an overly impacted major. Congrats on getting in!

@Stairs @briank82 What did you guys both get in for? I still have not heard anything and my portal has not changed I applied for graphic design so I am almost wondering If i will get denied at this point because I feel like I am the only person still waiting to hear…

@jay956 No way you got rejected from SDSU too? Im so upset that was my top choice, but I got the waitlist option did you receive that as well?
