Has any Psych/Child Dev/Soc major been accepted yet?
anyone today?
no determination still. I’m civil engineering, 3.72, in-state transfer. My initials are YA
Nothing yet, bus-admin (info sys), initials JH
Any out-of-staters hear yet?
I am just going to assume it is a denial for me. less stress = better sleeping.
@chowthebest I’m in the same boat as you. xD I might as well keep busy with the tons of Business Calc homework
I got in for Child Development around 1:30. I made a group me for all of us who have gotten accepted.
You’re invited to my new group ‘Cal Poly Slo 2017 Transfer Group!’ on GroupMe.

JUST GOT INTO AEROSPACE ENGINEERING!!
GPA:3.59
EC: Two jobs, part of my school’s honors program
Missing two courses from major requirements that I’ll finish in the spring and took a recommended course.
Good luck to everyone
@winonos Work work:D
I’m confused that I’m seeing acceptances with a GPA of as low as 3.0 for transfers in this thread. It seems that Cal Poly cares way more about major prep than they do anything else even though their acceptance rate for transfers is historically very low. I have a 3.77 but I think basically I’m screwed because I’m missing a required class. Even though I applied to likely one of their least impacted majors (forestry). I’ll have the IGETC done but I bet that’s not enough.
ACCEPTED
Major: Statistics
Socal CC
IGETC: Completed
Major Prep: Both classes in progress
GPA: 4.0
ECs: work part time (major related) and also a small amount of volunteer work
In-State) in-state
Anyone know if Cal Poly SLO is highly regarded in Mathematics or Statistics?
Hi everyone! I’ve been reading this forum for a while but haven’t commented.
I got accepted yesterday for Sociology–checked my portal around 2 pm. Still haven’t recieved the congrats email yet. So happy and relieved!
GPA: 4.0
EC: 10 hours a week.
IGETC & major prep classes will be completed this spring, but no AA-T. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!
@tylerdrod @chowthebest might know about that, he’s a math major.
I really not sure if math or stat is really highly regarded. However, both majors are impacted in SLO. So I guess it is sort of highly regarded as you can see there are many applicants applied math for fall 2016.
@mysticalforest I get you man. I have a 3.88 GPA, but I did not do physic courses as the required classes. So yeah I think SLO only cares about major courses over GPA this year. Just wait for few more days and see what is going on because this year pattern is kind of off and different.
@chowthebest Seriously, I think I saw someone post here they got accepted to ME with a 3.2ish? I mean that’s one of the most impacted majors (<10% acceptance I believe). Kind of blows my mind. I wish they would just allow a short essay. There is so much I have to offer the school and I have such a unique background that they will never know about because they don’t ask. I’m definitely appealing and sending them a lengthy letter if I get denied.
But yeah wishing the best for both of us.
To everyone who hasn’t heard yet and is starting to panic - I know someone who was only notified of his acceptance into the Sociology program in mid-March last year, so there is still a good chance that decisions will be sent out in waves for the next few weeks.
Ugh I wish I wasn’t on this forum then I wouldn’t know to stress x)
@Dancergal92 are you sure he didn’t just forget to check his portal? It could have been posted long before that, but he just received the email acceptance at that time.
