@chowthebest - I have a lower GPA (3.2) and have met all of my course requirements when I applied, but my portal still is undecided. Frankly, I’m confused as well but you’re right that it probably is a matter of just waiting (albeit very anxiously) longer.
@mysticalforest I believe his portal was only updated around March 21st
@winonos Positively, I think they are still releasing decision at least this week. Like the decision cannot be done in one day. It needs at least several days for completion. But by far, I still did not have heard about acceptance for today. But I did not take any physic courses. So it might be a reason why I am still undetermined.
Guys I spoke directly with admissions via email. They said many admissions decisions have not gone out yet. So it’s not over until it’s over.
@mysticalforest That is great to hear. I’ve been refreshing this thread every 30 minutes to see if any new decisions popped up. The anticipation is killing me haha.
same @squirtlesquirtle but I’m preparing for the first as I was not done with major prep. This only recently became my first choice after sending in my app. So I didn’t really think as much of it. Was more focused on major prep for other schools. Sad, but who knows what could happen. Just don’t want to get my hopes up
Yeah I mean we all have backup schools, and we probably should brace for rejection, but who knows?
@Jaximus While we may never know until more time passes, I will say it has been really cool to chat with people here going through the same thing. Everyone has been supporting each other through this instead of you know, being snobby.
does anyone know how impacted communications is at cal poly slo and was anyone accepted with under a 3.0 (2.8-2.9)?
Son just rec’d acceptance. Ag Science. 3.33 GPA transfer from TCU. All req’d classes complete or currently in progress.
@cm12356 did you finish all of the major prep? if you are not going to finish all of them, you will be less competitive.

Regarding your question about GPA, for college of Liberal Arts the average acceptance GPA for last year is: 3.39. more info: https://admissions.calpoly.edu/prospective/profile.html
Good Luck
@cpmustangmama Congratulation. Is your son a instate or outstate student? Did he just checked admission status today or he also checked it yesterday.
@FishoMath yes all my major prep is done and my AA-T will be completed by the end of this semester. Do you know if I have any chance of getting in with under a 3.0?
@mysticalforest if you are not going to finish major prep, you will be less competitive. It says on their website. I quote “You will not be competitive in the selection process without them!”

@cm12356 I am not sure about it, but I would recommend you to check thread from 2016 and see what gpa did they get to get accepted for your major. I wish you best of luck.
@FishoMath I’m aware that I’ll be less competitive. That seems fairly obvious and I have been to that link before. I am much more curious if they will simply reject my application off hand because of this or if they will still consider me. When I applied here, it was kind of on a whim, I wasn’t really interested in going to Cal Poly. I had an application fee waiver so I was just curious to see what would happen. I did not expect this to change so drastically. Most of my major prep I did was catered to UC schools as that had been my primary interest.
@mysticalforest I did the same thing as you did lol. I was following Cal’s requirement.
@FishoMath I suspect he did not check last night. I’m not certain, but I’d bet on it. He’s out of state.
I got accepted as a transfer student. I checked the portal earlier today, and also got an e-mail from SLO. I’m transferring from El camino college.
