Cal poly slo fall 2017 transfer thread

Hey guys! Just got accepted into the College of Liberal arts with an average GPA (dreams really do come true!)

BUT! I have a question: Does anyone know how to view your application in full? Am I able to look at which courses I listed as planned for winter and spring? My entire winter schedule changed and I forgot which courses I listed as planned back when I applied to SLO. I must know so I can at least take them in the spring. If anyone has any insight, i’d forever appreciate it!

@upsidedownturtle oh good, my school doesn’t use +/-

@justinmega1 my school unfortunately does :((

I’m not so sure C’s for Fa16/Sp17 are completely safe. Although that’s a minimum, the terms of acceptance also say “You must maintain the academic standard that allowed for your admission.” So in an extreme example, if someone had a 4.0 GPA (in 24 units) to a competitive major at the time of application, and that high GPA was a significant factor in the decision, but then they got all C’s (in 36 units) in their last two semesters (suppose 18 units each) plunging their GPA to 2.8, they could definitely be considered to have not maintained the standard that got them accepted. I’m just giving my interpretation here, and haven’t asked admissions, nor do I plan to since I will be maintaining my GPA.

@chflynn You can view the courses that you listed on CSU mentor by going to Apply- Undergraduate Admission Application-Fall 2017-View App confirmation- lastly click on “If you wish to print out a copy of the information you submitted in this application for your records only, click here.”

@chflynn Go to csumentor and click the links as if your about to apply to another school, then after logging in you’ll see a list of already submitted apps. You’ll find a link to view them.

EDIT: Yeah, what FishoMath said.

haven’t heard back either, i’m a Child Development major with all classes completed. 3.35 when applied, 3.59 currently. dying inside waiting! good luck everyone. has anyone gotten in w Child Dev major?

I got accepted!!!
I applied as an econ major with GPA of 2.5 as a transfer student doing the AD-T at my local community college.

@FishoMath @lankysequoia Thanks guys!!! And good luck  Hope to see you at SLO!

@lankysequoia I definitely see what you’re saying. I have 72 units completed at 3.6 gpa and I’m only taking 8 units this semester so even with 2 C’s, it will drop down to like a 3.5.

Accepted

Has any Agriculture Business/Animal Science Majors been accepted in Northern California at all? I am super anxious and nervous! Thanks in advance!

@mountainroamer youve given hope to the rest of us in terms of major prep not being complete

Hey @simmonsashleigh I’m in the same boat as you. Same major and GPA. Transferring from Cuesta, but still have yet to hear back :frowning: I previously read that a girl was accepted into the child developement program a week ago but besides that…no word! My fingers are still crossed but they hurt

@screenname1251 & @simmonsashleigh I’m there with you too. I saw on this thread that one person was accepted for the major, and I started freaking out. Hopefully we have yet to hear back because of the system in which they send out admissions

@Cryesco I was thinking the same thing. It could have been an early admission situation? Ugh

Psych major, Bay Area, and haven’t heard back either. I don’t see any psych majors posting acceptances, could that mean they haven’t sent them out yet.

I wonder if it has to do with the order they received the applications?

I’m holding on to the whole socal vs NorCal thing for now. Another acceptance poster listed that they are around the SLO area/ SoCal area. I had a friend who got into bus admin with a 3.4 from NorCal last year but he said he got his acceptance letter in march.

@jonathaanv I’d think so too. Almost all of us who have said that they’re from the Bay Area haven’t heard back yet. Hopefully, another wave will come out sometime today so we can see if that’s the case where it’s oos -> local -> not so local.
