So I am attending cal poly slo this year to major in math and hopefully become a teacher,i just graduated high school. Financial aid guarantees 10300 that consists of Grant ACG, Pell, SEOG, SUG. Which is awesome because it covers tuition, books, and such. First question where is the Cal Grant B? (I received a letter in the mail that I was awarded this grant) Does Cal Grant B count as financial aid? (I ask because if it does, it may mean that I am eligible for deferment of housing and meal payment) I am also considering taking out a Stafford sub loan for 3500 so that i will qualify for housing defer. Should I take out the loan? Or I am honestly considering going to a community college/junior college for two years to complete general ed courses but will this financial aid still be available if I transfer in two years and my parents make the same amount of money? Any and all advice would be EXTREMELY APPRECIATED thank you

SOooo the actual amount financial aid is actually around 2000 in financial aid, I was adding work study, parent plus loan, and another two loans into it ha so major dissapointment there and as for the cal grant b I think I just have to wait on that one. And yea I would need a larger loan =( or something Cuesta seems like a good community college right?

That’s unfortunately typical for CSUs. CC for two years sounds smart.
