How do most people get the desired 10 credits of English (in 4 years of high school)?
How does coursework at a high school on a TRIMESTER schedule convert to semesters required/desired?

The high school English Coursework requirement for application

CSU SEMESTERS REQUIRED = 8.
CAL POLY SEMESTERS DESIRED = 10.

I will have 12 trimesters of English, 6 of them honors.
No English electives.

Will this be adequate?

12 trimesters= 4 years. Yes this is adequate and meets the CSU requirement. Applicants that take 10 semesters usually do it by taking a community college course during the summer. 1 semester of a College English course = 2 semesters of HS credit.

You can get 10 without leaving HS, you just need two in one year. Senior year is the classic time to get it. Taking both English Lit and Creative Writing is but one of many possibilities.
