I’ve been accepted to Cal Poly SLO as a biological sciences major and UCSB. I can’t decide between the bio programs at each school because I’ve heard that both have pretty good programs. Cal Poly seems more engineering focused, but UCSB has a larger class size and seems to be more competitive. Any thoughts?
CP SLO I have a friend who is currently majoring in bio their and he says his professors are great and they are very knowledgeable. The price for CP SLO is a little cheaper and he said it is easier to get to know teachers there. Also CP SLO has risen in the ranks and many people has seen it as the gem of the CSU system it gets more In terms of recruiting for jobs simply because they have an actual business school that attracts more companies. SO yeah CP SLO is a clear winner here
It will depend upon what you plan to do with your Biology degree. Grad school/Research might favor UCSB while if your leaning towards a Medical/Dental career, SLO might give you that high GPA needed to apply to Medical/Dental schools.
Is UCSB considered more prestigious for grad school?
