Cal Poly SLO over UCLA . Anyone does that?

LOL. CAL Poly SLO so cheap since Im internationl student.

I know of a few who have done it. How much cheaper is Poly than UCLA? I’m a current Cal Poly student and if you want to work in California as an Engineer then Poly is a solid choice. If you want to go into research and pursue a PhD or go to Professional school then UCLA will have better connections although there are some people who go into research who graduate from Poly (As shown in our Senior Graduate status report).

With the academics already addressed,

The area is a bit dull when compared to UCLA; SLO is stuck trying to maintain a small-town persona, while simultaneously assuming the role of its region’s metropolis. Imagine Santa Barbara meets Davis.

i might be in this same decision boat… aerospace engineering. I know SLO is great for job out of graduation… but, i can’t see it being that hard to get a job with a UCLA degree?

Let go forward honestly depending on your major it might be worth it to attend SLO. Whats your major?

computer and electrical engineering

Well SLO is a top notch engineering school but UCLA also has a top notch engineering department. Honestly when it come to engineering you can go either way with SLO and UCLA. But UCLA might have a little more of an advantage for grad school.
