When applying to Cal Poly SLO do you compete against other applicants applying to the same college or applicants that declared the same major??
The way it was explained to us on our recent tour was that you’re competing against other applicants declaring the same major. This is also true if you were to switch majors down the road–you’d be competing against other students trying to switch into the same major.
Yes, I had go on a tour this week and they said the same thing, just wanted to clarify
All Cal States not just SLO admit by major, so you will be compared to all applicants applying to your specific intended major.
