<p>I want to major in mechanical engineering and I wanted to know which school is better for it. Is there a big gap between the two or is it fairly close?</p>
<p>SJSU is good but, SLO is a better program with much better recognition.</p>
<p>If you plan on dorming, I’d choose SLO in a heartbeat. Better on campus life, better recruitment, stronger students, some school spirit, and probably much better academics. </p>
<p>Big gap in almost every aspect of the 2 aforementioned universities. Cal Poly is substantially ahead. But you need to visit Cal Poly to find out for yourself. </p>
<p>When it comes to tuition fees, SLO is much more expensive. </p>
<p>SLO is about $1500 a year more than SJSU for tuition and fees. Total cost of attending either campus is $20k+. I wouldn’t let that weigh too heavily in my decision.</p>
