I am majoring in business and have to decided between cal poly slo and sdsu. which has a better program? will either be recognized better by the workforce that i will be entering once i graduate college? please help

I am in the same situation. Deciding between Cal Poly SLO, SDSU, Santa Clara, & Chapman (with a scholarship) and I am 95% sure I’m going to Cal Poly SLO.

Cal Poly is ranked liked 60th in business week’s rankings for undergrad schools. SDSU didn’t even make the top 100!

Cal Poly is harder to get into in general, and their business program specifically is a bit harder to get into that SDSU. Cal Poly in general has more prestige and a better reputation. Their engineering program gets Cal Poly lots of prestige cus its about as good as UC Berkley’s. While SDSU has a party rep.

Cal Poly is also really good for hooking you up with jobs and interns even though its in the middle of no where… but its a BEAUTIFUL location and a great college town.

However, Cal Poly isn’t a SUPER amount better than SDSU. If you prefer city life and like San Diego, you might prefer SDSU.

Visit both and find out. Generally Cal Poly SLO is considered the second best public undergraduate business school in CA only under to Berkley.

It goes:

Berk
Cal Poly SLO
SDSU / UC Riverside

(none of the other UCs have business, only business economics which is way different.)

Plus SDSU is getting hit harder with budget cuts than Cal Poly.

Both are great though and you can’t go wrong either way.
