i got accpeted into both for the arch programs butstil don’t know which one to pick! any arch majora around here?
any suggestions?

Poly > Cal in Arch. All my evidence is anecdotal though.

Cal Poly's acrcheture was ranked #1 in the nation by US News and World Report. So I would say Cal Poly. However the achrecture program at Cal Poly is really demanding.

Cal Poly's architecture program is terrific, top-notch, and one of the best in the country. Although overall, Berkeley is the more prestigious school with a bigger reputation, I don't think its arch is as good as Cal Poly SLO by any stretch of the imagination.

thanks a LOT!

I'm looking for the place that Cal Poly was ranking #1 by US News...where can I find it?

^^^ Don't know how much help I can help with that but my guess is that that is information you have to pay the 14 or so bucks to get from the website. Or you can get the book at any major book store.

Aside from what has been mentioned in other posts, my impression is that Cal Poly also places way more emphasis on the undergrad than Cal. That probably is not true across the board but you may want to factor that in to the equation.

Although that might not be so important for some majors, I would assume that it would be important for an arch major, being that it's such a technical field, with hands on experience, and practical application being what is going to prove the most beneficial upon graduation, unless of course you plan on pursuing graduate studies.
