Cal poly transfer question

I am a Aerospace Engineering major and the transfer page previously stated

“Application will receive consideration for any General Education courses completed, but those who have all G.E or IGETC completed will receive maximum consideration in this catagory.”

now it states

“Applicants will receive consideration for any General Education courses completed, but it is not expected that transfer students to this major will have full completion of all G.E. or IGETC requirements. English Composition and Speech are mandatory requirements.”

Does this mean they no longer count IGETC or GE for competitiveness or those with IGETC or GE are still more competitive than others?

Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks

I think what they meant is that since you’re in a very technical major that they wont judge you if you don’t have all your IGETC courses done. As an engineering major they understand that your life is consumed by math and science courses, so they’re telling you not to worry if you didn’t get the time to take that pesky general sociology course :). But, it says that you MUST have English Composition and Speech finished. So make sure you already have those classes done, or will have them done by the end of spring of your decided year of transfer.

thanks, quietdude. The notification system needs updating since i had not known someone had replied to my post.
