Hey everyone so I’m a highschool senior right now that will be going to cc. I’m not dumb and I have the ability to work hard when I need to, so I’m expecting to have 3.8-4.0 in cc. I really want to go to cal poly for bus admin. I live 40 minutes north of Santa barbara, so about an hour south of slo. Should I go to SBCC because of it’s amazing status as a great CC, or Cuesta or Hancock because the majority of cal poly transfers come from there. My issue with going to Cuesta or Allan Hancock is that if I don’t make it into cal poly, I feel my other options are very limited from there. Please help!
If you keep up your grades in the range you say you are and you finish all your prereqs, it doesn’t really matter where you go. Just go to the one that’s most convenient for you. Also, no one will think you’re dumb if you go to a cc. Good luck!
Thanks but I feel like if they’re choosing between a 4.0 from Cuesta and a 4.0 from SBCC they’re going to choose the Cuesta one. And I’d just rather be that one with the advantage. Does this have any truth to it?
Also last year cal poly accepted 209 transfers from Cuesta while only 24 from SBCC. They seem very location oriented
Okay, but those numbers don’t mean anything unless you also know how many applications were submitted from those two schools. Did they get 24 app’s from SBCC and accept ALL of them? Or were the numbers comparable? Talk to admissions at Cal Poly, and the guidance offices at the CC’s, and see what you can find out.
