I was wondering what were the least competitive engineering majors at cal poly and ucsb?
Right now I’m applying to industrial for Cal poly and chemical at ucsb. I heard that materials or manufacturing engineering may be easier for Cal poly but I’m not sure.
Thanks
Based on SLO target projections Materials or Manufacturing Engineering could be an easier admit. What you need to understand is that if you are applying to an easier Engineering major to get in but plan to switch to another Engineering major after admission, SLO does consider your eligibility for the new major based on your original application. If you did not meet eligibility originally, you may not be able to change majors, so no guarantees.
Same can be said for UCSB, although all Engineering majors at UCSB are highly competitive with no guarantee if you want to change into another discipline.
Thank you for your reply. UCSB only has mechanical, computer, electrical, and chemical engineering.
