CAL Provisional Contract... gpa req.

Hi. For those that got accepted, what does your contract say about Spring GPA?
Here is mine:

You must complete all UC-transferable courses in the Winter and/or Spring 2009 terms with a 3.0 or higher GPA and no grade lower than a C. Immediately contact your Admissions Officer if you will not be able to meet this condition.

When I read that whole thing, it seems like they want a 3.0 GPA avg for both semesters, right? At least that's what I hope it means . I only have one class and I might get a C, but if it's Winter and Spring classes together, my A's from winter will help buffer my GPA.

Any thoughts?

Has anyone called them about this? I called for different things, and I don't want to call again unless I have to. Thanks guys!!!

Mine says the same.

Mine says the same as well.

Cal’s contract is a lot more detailed then UCLA’s though. I’m still trying to figure out what those idiots meant with “maintain a gpa average” or whatever they said in there…

Either one of you planning on calling your admissions officer about this? I dont want to call her again haha im already in some other ***** with her this might **** her off.

Hahaha,

I called and it pretty much means the same thing as Cal’s provisional contract. No D’s, no F’s, you can get C’s. And don’t get below a 3.0.

Haha, which officer do you have? Maybe we have the same one.

sorry for upping this thread again, but anyone call and clarify this with their Cal adviser??

Is that 3.0 avg gpa for Winter/Spring combined?
or
Is that 3.0 avg gpa for winter and 3.0 avg for spring separately.?!?!

I don’t know if this helps but this is what I received when I emailed about it.

“…3.0 or higher g.p.a. and no grade lower than a C…” means that if you receive a C in one 3-unit course, you must balance it with an A in another 3 units during your final term [and summer would count as a “final term” if you can make a B average then].

niners618 I think that exactly answers my question, my only question to you is, did you contract say the same thing as mine because you only copy pasted the part after 3.0 so IDK what it said before 3.0.

I think what I got is pretty general. It said that I had to finish all my uc transferable courses this last semester with a 3.0 or higher. And no grade lower than a C. There were other conditions like alerting the admissions officer if I screw up on the grades, must complete all 60 units by this term and finish my units for this semester.
