Cal Rental Approval before acceptance...mean anything?

Blurry and xleper, I created a dummy account as well at around 2:30 pm. I then created a real account under my own name around 7:30 pm. I got email #1 back (Thank you for your request...) for my dummy account, and I didn't get the second authentication email. For my real account I created at 7:30 pm, I didn't even get email #1 back, which it seems like they send to everyone no matter what their status.

I think the reason why none of us heard back within the last few hours is because it's not during business hours? Tell me what you think. I guess we'll just have to wait until tomorrow..

joehanus - I think email #1 is an automated response, but I may be wrong.

... are you serious?

OMG CAR RENTAL ACCEPTANCE FROM BERKELEY? DUDE YOU'RE TOTALLY IN.

yeah, I thought that at first too, but it appears as if blurry, xleper17, and I haven't received any emails after applying later this evening, so maybe email #1 is an automated response during business hours? I don't know, but I feel like we're on to something since blurry and you both received email #2 (the authentication one) today, but my dummy acount only received #1 (and these were all sent during business hours, if that even matters.) Good work team

i didn't receive anything at all. i did send it later in the day, so hopefully i'll get an e-mail tomorrow morning of some sort.

but if it's automated, why does it matter if the office is open or not? lol.

I sent one in as well a few hours back, and have yet to receive anything.

maybe computers need a break too? all i'm basing that off of is that changusmc, blurry, and myself all received emails earlier today (from both real and dummy accounts), but nobody has received any emails when applying later this evening. we'll just have to wait until tomorrow. keep the flame burning team

I tried during business hours but I didn't receive even the first email. I have a hotmail account not sure if that matters.

oh damn, I used a hotmail account too and got the first email back from calrentals using a dummy account. well maybe they're on to us... well we might be speculating a little too much, i guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I thought it was the second email which mattered, whereas the first is an automated notification that they have received your request.

That's the weird thing; I didn't even receive the first one. I must have a spam filter on or something.

spam filter should just send it to the spam folder. i have a filter but the only spam i have is from delta telling me to buy tickets to miami...

this sounds like a conspiracy, hahaha.

I'm sorry, but how did you create an account for Cal Renting on May 24th of 2008? Did anyone else catch that?

i caught that too but I just let it go lol. We know what he/she meant.

I don't think anything is going to be figured out tonight, tomorrow we can analyze who received an approval email and who did not, if anyone, to get a better understanding of its meaning.

But, if I could get a bit of clarification; we are only concerned with the second 'approval email' correct? As the first one is merely an automated email sent out during office hours?

But why would some of us not recieve the "automatic" email?

As I said, I am assuming it is only sent out during office hours --many of us sent in our requests after office hours, and thus did not receive the automated email.

i assume he/she meant march 24th?

As I said I sent it during business hours...and if it is automatic the office being open shouldn't matter. In any case all of this could be nothing. I'm just taking a break from triple integrals :P
