Is anyone else having a hard time logging into Cal Rentals?

https://calrentals.housing.berkeley.edu/

I'm trying to find rental listings and when I put in the CalNET ID that I created to view my financial aid offer (and everything else) it says that I am not authorized to access it. Weird. Can you guys log on successfully? Thanks.

Congratulations and welcome to Cal!

Sorry to hear you’re having troublelogging in.There can sometimes be a two day lag between the time that you submit your SIR and when you are able to use CalNet authentication to access Cal Rentals to search for off-campus housing and the UCB housig portal to submit an online housing application. If you are still having difficulty on Monday, please send an e-mail to homeinfo@berkeley.edu.

Awesome. Thank you for your reply! It totally makes sense that it isn’t working because I haven’t submitted my SIR yet. I will check back as soon as I submit my SIR. :-)

by the way, you may want to check out craigslist.org and also roommates.com

some neighborhoods to look at besides berkeley proper: el cerrito and albany

both have bart stations, which allow for easy transit to Cal and both are going to be less expensive than berkeley. i rent a 1 br house with a yard for my ginormous dog for 1375.

ilivefree-Thank you SO much for the suggestion. I would love to get a little house for us! May I ask what city your house is actually located in?

Ok, I’m a little slow this morning, I can see where you are based on your location. DUH! Hey, it’s early and I am still a mess from d-day (aka decision day). Thanks again!

my house is in albany. i have been in it for 4 years. i think my rent is lower than normal; i remember a 2 bedroom for rent a few years ago and it was going for 2200, but looked quite spacious (compared to the tuna can i live in with my wife, my 100lb. dog, the cat, and two bunnies).

good luck looking

oh, and anyone can pm me if they’re not a berkeley local and want to know how a neighborhood is… i was raised here so i can let you know what’s up.

KC,
